A damn good one at that.
Appraisals were much harsher back then.

It's not like today. Look at the title of this video, then look at the video:

These days hitting the bag with sharp shots is called great power.
Back then, whiplash brutal uppercuts were reported as invisible.

Joe Louis shuffled around, but Golovkin moves "The way of the hunter."

I mean, I actually prefer todays language much more.
It's more fair to the boxers that have been treated like crap for 100 years.
    And it's closer to reality.

This idea that you can pick and choose which lineal champions were bad, and which ones were good boxers, is as silly as it comes. They were all damn good, especially the really notorious ones who defended the title a handful of times.

Bowe was clearly a more effective fighter than Carnera.

He destroyed a prime Holyfield who would have toyed with Primo something silly.

However Bowe lacked the discipline of Primo, he didn't train as hard and he didn't use his strengths as well.

But no one truly believes Primo is better, not truly.

Primo is one of the worst champions ever.

Statistically Primo is one of the most successful Super Heavyweight champions ever. His record versus SHW is 100% because he knocked or stopped every guy close to his own size he ever fought, and he defended the undisputed title twice.

SHWs are in vogue now and I think Primo is right up there among them. Once you get past Lennox Lewis and mrs Klitschkos sons there isn't many above Primo at SHW.

You would make Carnera favourite over the other super heavyweights? Can you give us your definition of a super heavyweight?

A super heavyweight by my Standards is usually around 6'4", 230 lbs or more. How many men of this description did Carnera face? What were their records? How good did they look on film?

To give you an idea and look at some of Anthony Joshua's more recent outings.

    Wladimir Klitscko - 6'6", 240 lbs and with a record of 64-4

    Dominic Brezeale - 6'7", 255 lbs and with a record of 17-0

    Charles Martin - 6'5", 245 lbs and with a record of 23-0

    Dillian Whyte - 6'4", 247 lbs and with a record of 16-0

    Gary Cornish - 6'7", 256 lbs and with a record of 21-0

    Eric Molina - 6'4", 237 lbs and with a record of 25-3

Joshua is 100% against all these guys too.

With the exception of Wlad, I would give 20-1 odds that Primo of the second Sharkey fight beats Molina, Cornish, whyte, Martin and Brezeal too. With the exception of Wlad (who was inactive and 41 years old) Neither of those other guys had stepped out of the padded record stage.

If this definition is acceptable then Marciano fought just 1 superheavyweight ,Fat Boy Humphrey Jackson 4-2-0.

I'd expect both Whyte and Brezeale to beat him. When defending/making a case for Carnera it is as well not to mention the term," padded record!"

I refuse to believe those 6/7 truly believe it.

I know you are fighting the good fight on this forum and lord knows we need you but creating this thread is borderline blasphemous. I hate you.
