Canelo " I wont fight for the Golovkin for the WBC belt" LOL

Makes decision to fight for belt that will require mandatory defense.
Angry that said belt requires mandatory defense.

GOLOVKIN:
Makes decision to accept money to not fight for title.
Angry that he is not fighting for title.

The whole fiasco is silly. They are both milking the public for top dollar. Same as every other big fight. Public continues to get milked, and gets hot and bothered about it, because they don't see what's happening.

 

I think Canelo-Golovkin does a good deal more than Canelo-Khan did (600k or so ppv buys), as a number of industry people seem to think Canelo-GGG last year had the potential to hit 1M buys.

But ppv numbers are notoriously hard to predict, there's no way of knowing for sure until it happens I suppose. Off topic, but do you think Canelo-GGG happens this year bt?

 

But you have to make your way up somehow. Its not the belts per say, its the people running the show

It's worse than that, when Cotto got stripped GGG should have been named full champ right then but WBC broke very rule for Canelo and let him Fight for the belt that was never vacant because they already had an interim champ in Golovkin.

If we go by that example then those people paid GGG to jump in front of him and then the cashier took off right after assuring everyone that cashiers don't **** around. He ended up having his groceries and got paid handsomely while waiting. Win, win situation really...
Fair enough, would've been better to collect all that money before the fight and then still get a massive payday but hey, guess the guy didn't expect Canelo to be such a ***** and run away.

I'm more worried about what the hell he's doing right now. For a person who should know what kind of crooks GBP are by now, he's really keen on shooting himself in the feet.

 

Maybe he learned something from Mayweather after all.

 

Me personally while I always felt Canelo-GGG is a fight fans fight I never thought it would be the huge commercial success many think. I think somewhere between the Khan numbers at 600 and Cotto numbers at 900 would be around where the fight topped out at but like you said it's hard to predict.

To answer your question though unless Chavez pulls the upset, I think the fight does happen this year. I may not agree with all of Canelos decisions but for the longest time as far back as Lara I can recall him and GBP saying the plan to move up wasn't until this year. The Chavez fight says there sticking to it, and no one would give a pass if it doesn't happen now only time will tell though.
