Could heavy wght Roy Jones Jr have replicated ali against liston?

I think it took everything for Ali to win.
He even fought a round blind.

I don't think RJJ lasts a round tbh.
Every time I watch that fight I forget how scary Liston looked. He was all over Ali in every direction chasing him all across the ring.

 

RJJ replicates being a basketball that you get at your local sporting goods store if he had fought that Liston of Clay vs Liston I.

 

Jones Jr handpicked Ruiz for a purpose. He would have avoided
Liston like everybody in the early 60's avoided Liston.
A replay of Ibeabuchi vs Byrd but this fight barely lasts a round
with Roy counted out.

 

Jones would be out in 3 rds at most.

 

Jones is a great fighter...but doesn't have near the durability to last with a Sonny Liston. Big difference in John Ruiz and Sonny Liston...

 

Ali taunted him, and was up on his toes, circling him, feinting him, and hitting him with aggressive counter punches.

Roy would never have done that. He'd have been ultra cautious, looking for pot shots to try and steal the rounds.

Roy jones was incredibly talented but if he comes to win he gets Knocked out within 6 rounds. If he comes to try to survive and maybe steal as many rounds as he can like he did in Tarver 3 he might possibly make it 15 but he wouldnt win more than 3-4 rounds. Jones of the ruiz fight had already been slipping for 4-5 years even though he had kept winning. He was never going to have a long run at HW anyway.
