lol..@ this thread still going...its pretty obvious the Ali brigade wont rest until they get some comforting closure on this....after the Klitchko fight it would be pretty obvious he can go LONG distances bc hes never been past 7 and got the knockout in the 11th all the while getting hit by Klitchko...what is ali going to hit him with a BAT????:rosstheboss

Wasnt this the direct cause of Ali winning bc Joshua has no stamina and the great Ali would run circles around him which still no one can explain how ??? :bash:

I'd give him a better puncher's chance now, he convinced me that he can make use of a nice left hook.

That being said, his feet looked slower than I expected and his footwork seemed limited. If a 41 year old can make you miss, you'd be hitting the air all night against Ali.

I agree his footwork isn't impressive and also his accuracy isn't the best (although I haven't seen stats or know if any reliable ones exist?) but despite these limitations I am more confident than I was before Klitschko, Joshua answered a lot of questions and he is trouble for anybody in boxing history in his current state.

I can see Ali dancing and making Joshua miss plenty, it's just….

I had him 4 points behind.
Well it would be Wlad's "best career performance" wouldn't it!

I think Ali's punches would have more effect on Joshua than Ward's had on Kovalev. And yes, I thought Ward won that fight and proved that you can win a fight without your power gaining the respect of your opponent.

That is a fair point although Ali isn't Ward defensively, Kovalev isn't Joshua on the inside (that uppercut:scared1) etc but I get your overall point. (although you might have picked another example, I had Kovalev obviously)

If you pick the young Ali, complete with spring-in-step, reflexes and all the speed or the older, wily, tough version I see any version I can think of at a noticeable disadvantage in the ring with Joshua. Ali isn't Whitaker, I understand he has great chin and is tough and mean but Anthony 'The Juggernaught' Joshua has shown me enough that I believe he has the tools to get to Ali and stop him.

Insert AJ instead of Foreman in the brutal heat of Zaire, Ali's mental warfare at full speed, AJ was nervous and tense/tight against Gentleman Old Timer WK, a overwhelming pro Ali crowd, no doubt, and Aj will not make it past the 5th, he would be a sitting duck totally gassed out after he shot his wad

Ali, easy. Joshua has a low gas tank and is slow.

How about Mayweather/Canelo? Or Byrd\Tua? lol

Uppercuts came to my mind too, but then I remembered Big George's ability to throw monster uppercuts(which is a rare ability) with both hands and how Ali neutralized it. Add to that AJ's flat feet and predictable offence, I'm convinced Ali has the beating of him.

We can discuss for 1000 pages but It'll come down to the same: You'll take size and power, I'll take speed and ring IQ. :)

Four points behind, I think you were being a little biased there. Maybe Joshua two points ahead. Yes Wladimir looked at his technical and physical best for sure, everyone seems to agree with me.

    Correct.
Joshua is bigger, taller, stronger, heavier, better footwork, more skilled, better defence and more aggressive than Ali.

Ali would have a 30-40 pound disadvantage. Joshua would manhandle him.
