Further confirms he grew out of jr. MW division some time ago.

 

It's going to be a good fight, with high drama in Las vegas! I'm neutral, but may the best man win!

 

I could have sworn Canelo's last fight was at Junior MW (154) for the Junior MW WBO title.

Jr looked a lot better than I thought he would. With his size advantage and chin, I can't see Canelo getting a stoppage but he should be able to out-point him without too much trouble.

Chavez hasn't improved dramatically since the first time I seen him - and that was on a Gatti undercard when he was a light-welterweight!

 

Canelo definitely got booed more than Jr, I got the impression that the crowd will be rooting for the underdog.

 

Whatever you say Isal. You and I both know he only went back to 154 to save face after the "here's your belt" incident.

As someone who always considered Chavez Jr as an average fighter who overachieved @ MW with his size advantage, even I'm getting hyped.

**** it, I'm gonna stay up to watch this. Even if It looks like Pac/Margarito as I expect It will, It'll still be a lot of fun to watch.

Chavez Jr has alot of fans from southern California who made their way upto Las Vegas to take part in the festivities of this historical event, and just as Morales was the more booed fighter against Barrera, I hope people aren't too surprised to hear Canelo taking the role of Morales as the more booed fighter tommorow night

And you know damn well I meant that he grew out of jr MW but had been resisting it.

 

He wanted 156 lb for the Cotto fight ...

And then, according to his management, 155 lb for the Golovkin fight ...
