Am I the only one who senses something weird about Chavez Jr's demeanour? Can't figure out what it is, not saying it's a positive or a negative either, just curious.

He could be high. Kind of a stupid answer, but who knows.

Golovkin wanted 168 for Chavez jr and Froch, but 164 for ward. Why?

His eyes looked strange to me. Seemed too wide-eyed.

Because Ward is p4p and a tough stylistic matchup to boot. He needed to bring Ward down to have a good chance of winning.

Would you agree that Canelo's logic was similar?

I'm not sure if I can agree.

After Canelo beat Liam Smith he said that he would not be fighting at 154 ever again. Meaning he had decided to make the official move up. Before Liam Smith Canelo had never fought above 155.

It would be similar if Canelo would have said that he would fight JR at 164.5 but Golovkin at 155 , which is obviously not the case.

Way to twist and duck the question Isal. If Canelo wasn't having any problems making jr. MW, why ask 156 from Cotto?

Initially I disregarded this as a blatant cash grab (a-la Floyd/Pac). However, Jr seems to have gone all in with JMM's camp and is intent upon not further disgracing the fine name he was gifted with upon birth.

    This is gonna' be good.

I'm not complaining about 164.5 for the Chavez fight, in fact I have never complained about this fight and am looking forward to it.

I think it was clear, if you reread my post, that I was talking about asking Cotto (the small man) for 156 lb and asking GGG (the larger man) to go down all the way to 155 lb. It's only one pound, but it would have been a helpful gesture if Canelo had offered 156 or 157 lb to make up the gap a little. 155 lb seems like he wants a weight advantage by going lower than his best weight.

The Golovkin-Ward 164 offer was a bit of a joke, clearly Ward cannot make that, and if you criticize that I have no problem with that criticism either.

Agreed. Like it or not, it's going to be a fun fight, and those who skip it will simply miss out.
