Nice clip that really does him justice. Such a great fighter and gets a little forgotten even in Classic.

His skills and timing are beautiful to watch. On top of that he has speed to burn. Durable too.

I really need to grow up but the fact his 7th fight was against a guy with the first name "Gaylord" is just too funny.:loel:

Recently I read up a little on Griffith, seems like an all round good egg, kind, generous and well liked.

I have never seen an entire fight of his, any recommendations?
Is the Napoles fight a good one, I am also keen to see him in action after the video on him posted earlier?

Griffith vs Luis Rodriquez was always a great fight to watch on Friday Night fights back in the early 60's.

Thanks again Red for some excellent footage. As I've said, my 2nd favorite fighter as a child.
A supreme compliment from Monzon: "He was the ONLY fighter I ever fought that made me do things I didn't want to do."

I watched Emile at the end of his career in the 70's and of course he was not very impressive. In his prime he was a force to be reckoned with.

I thank you, JT. I can always rely on your bad self to get my jokes. Not sure if that's the compliment I intend it as.

Loved old man Griffith in Monzon2 with his well timed lead rights and slipping, he made it close despite being half the speed of his prime.

Go for it, Red. This is the man who put Dick Tiger down and gave Monzon a world of trouble despite a) being much smaller b) much older and c) fighting with the power punching handbrake on after the Paret tragedy. He was clearly a bit special and I for one will look forward to more on him. I don't know very much. As JT says, he gets a bit overlooked even here and I'm guilty of that too. Look forward to being enlightened.
