I think Vitali should rank higher H2H than Wlad. Wlad is greater, he achieved more and had the better career, but Vitali was harder to beat. Both Vitali's losses were caused by unfortunate injuries while he was leading on the scorecards. Not saying he would have necessarily won, especially against Lennox, but the fact remains that he was very difficult to beat. Vitali also dealt with Sanders, Purrity, Peter, etc. far better than his brother did. Certainly, triangle theories are unreliable but that is a fair amount of evidence. Vitali was far tougher, reacted better when hurt, had more confidence, and had a better fighter's mentality. Wlad is the better technical boxer, and probably hits a little harder too, but that's not enough to overtake his brother on a H2H basis against most opponents. That's not saying Vitali was unbeatable H2H, but he was harder to beat than his brother.
Great post. In terms of resume and accomplishments, Wlad has to rate higher. But on a H2H basis, it has to be Vitali. He was the more formidable HW.
Fair enough, but you initially said that you thought that Joshua would win every round before knocking them out. Again: That's a bold statement at this stage. You can't compare Charles Martin to Sanders and Byrd. Did you see how Sanders drove at Wlad and Vitali? He put them under immense pressure and he really went for it. All or nothing. That would have been a very dangerous fight for Joshua. Charles Martin didn't want to know. He deliberately stayed down late for the 2nd count, trying to kid the referee that he'd made it. It was an absolute joke. Joshua's never fought any southpaws with the skill and the intensity that those guys would have brought.
Theoretically, but again: It's early days yet. There's obviously different levels of southpaws. I rewatched Vitali-Sanders the other day. I can't believe how hard he went at Vitali. Of course Joshua could have beaten him. There's no doubt about that. But at this stage, we just don't know how he'd handle that kind of onslaught.
How's it going pal? https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?img...ujTAhUIKcAKHeJpBPgQMwg4KAMwAw&iact=mrc&uact=8
I'm a fan of the heavyweight division and i have seen all of the fighters you are talking about. Anthony Joshua is levels above a Chris Byrd or a Corrie Sanders, i'm not saying that those 2 fighters weren't good but i don't want to compare Anthony Joshua with either of them. Vitali Klitschko was an accumulation puncher with an awkward style and a granite chin, he wasn't fighting like Anthony Joshua, he had not the skills or the fighting style to be a nightmare for a southpaw. Anthony Joshua clearly has those skills, i have a pair of eyes, i can see how good a fighter is, i don't need to see more fights of him to say that he would beat Corrie Sanders and Chris Byrd.
Ali's was fast but not big-- 186 lb. Henry Cooper had him hurt and out until maybe saved by the bell. Ali was probably 200 lbs. for that fight.
You need to see Joshua fight a lot more guys, before you can claim that he would have won every round against the likes of Sanders and Byrd before knocking them out. Styles make fights. The better skilled fighter doesn't always prevail, which is what makes boxing so intriguing. This is not looking at skills on paper. You simply have no idea how Joshua would react to a Sanders type onslaught. It's just ignorant to dismiss the threat. He blew Wlad out who was in his mid 20's, who'd fought about 40 times. He drove hard at Vitali. Joshua was nearly out against Wlad, and he has question marks surrounding his chin and his stamina. Byrd was very good technically, and would have brought a completely different challenge. If you think they wouldn't pose a threat, you're kidding yourself.
Don't be so sure. Corrie starts fast, surprises, than knows how to finish. He surprised a lot and had them fighting very defensively after they felt his left hook-even Vitali will tell you that If he hits Tony with a good shot then counters after he's stunned, Tony's going down... Corrie doesn't let anyone off the hook when hurt.
First of all, you are twisting my words, i have never said that AJ would win every round against Corrie Sanders and Chris Byrd. I know that styles make fights therefore i have said that AJ has the perfect style to beat them, you should read my posts again, i think you are ignoring everything i have said and you start from scratch everytime. You ask to many questions like how do you know this ?, how do you know that ? I don't know how he would react exactly to Corrie Sanders but i have seen enough of him to put him as a favorite. This is not a thing of knowing, this is my opinion, if you are too ignorant to accept it then this is your problem.
