Benitez by decision. Just so elusive and economical with his movement. He didn't have to run around the ring and waste energy. Crisp counters with enough on them to get Chavez`s respect. JCC is one of the best fighters that I have ever seen but I think WB had all the tools to offset Julio`s strengths.

Chavez vs Whitaker was one of the worst robberies ever. As long
as the judges are fair Benitez is too exclusive for Chavez.

Most of the time @ 140 I'd pick Chavez to win (except Pryor), but while Benitez was just a kid, he was big at the weight...I think Benitez could upset Chavez and take a decision. Benitez had an excellent, quick up jab, and very good footwork. He has the tools to win this fight...and I think he would.

I'm 99 per cent certain that benitez would win this. He would have chavez s face permanently stuck to his glove. To masterful for chavez in this imo and Wilfred wins a decision.. That is if like juppity says , the judges are fair. If not then it's a draw!

I don't know. Wilfred didn't really have that much behind him at 140 and Chavez has all that experience. Neither was at their greatest at 140, Chavez getting a bit up in the weights and lightly tailing off where as Benitez was inexperienced and potentially a bit fragile. I wouldn't be writing Chavez off here, particularly over 15. Chavez had old school 15 round fighter written all over him. He would have fitted in well back in the 40's and 50's imo.

I think Chavez would be a tougher out than Cervantes was...JCC would/could hold his own with anyone @ 140. It would be close IMO.

Good point. If Chavez can zero in on the body that would be an excellent game plan. He did cut the ring.

This would be a very close fight. I certainly wouldn't write off Chavez in this one.

Benitez for me here. Just a little too good of a counter puncher against Chavez.
