canelos chin isnt good enough to survive De la hoya has historically kept him away from big punchers. Chavez was never really a puncher

We can pretty much rule out Canelo knocking Golovkin out and although I cant see Canelo outboxing GGG to a points victory i think the Mexican will be the best technical Boxer GGG will of faced.

I don't think you can rule out anything in a fight like this.

Golovkin's jab is also what won him the fight against Jacobs(at least in my eye).

    Agreed.

I still think Gennady's defence is still better than most. His subtle slips, blocks and ring placement are really effective, hence why he's never been knocked down.

Also his chin is ironclad, hence why he's seldom been stunned.

Well he may but actually I'm not even sure about that I reckon he may just walk through him like he did Brook

Hate to admit it, But Canelo skills have increased as time has progressed. He is slicker, a tiny bit more fleet footed. Thinks more, and sets traps. Canelo is defensively sound, and GGG style (come forward fighters) are tailor made for counter punchers.

    *Power is the issue*

Can GGG take what Canelo dishes out.....YES
Can Canelo defend and take what GGG dishes out.....??? not sure

This will be a boxing match. no war here. it may go to the cards

Fight will be very different against an opponent that actually fights back

Yep, Kirkland and Angulo are in no way considered power punchers.......

Seriously when have you seen Canelo shaken or hurt?

I agree Canelo has improved immensely over the years. His speed and reflexes will cause Golovkin problems and I don't see GGG trying to walk through Canelo as he has done other fighters coming up to fight him. A war of jabs is what will make the difference in the fight.

Canelo's built like a bulldog- chin isn't an issue and I doubt GGGs plan is to walk through him.

Golovkins jab is the key to the fight for me. If Canelo can counter it effectively, he can pull this off. If not, it's going to be a long night for him.

What fights have shown that Canelo is a power puncher? He actually has very little power for a 160 pound fighter and that is going to be his problem. KOing handpicked Glass Jawed opponents like Kirkland and Khan doesn't mean Canelo is a power puncher. That is exactly what Oscar wanted you to think by scheduling those fights and you fell for it.

Canelo is fully capable of outworking GGG to a decision. He has quick hands and puts together good, eye catching combos. If he can let his hands go and avoid anything big in return, I think GGG starts to get desperate, and thus less effective, as the fight cards pull away from him.

Or GGG just knocks his head off early.

Canelo will duck him again.. GGG is all wrong for him. He's planting his feet and still can't generate power in his combos.
GGG puts him on the back foot . Takes him out of of his game , stops him late.
