no, its going to be a tough fight, but i think Canelo is going to outfight him, and put on a great performance.

Should Canelo loses, he would not rematch GGG straightaway. But if he waits a few years, there'd be every chance he can beat an old Golovkin.

If it's a good fight, a competitive fight, which there's a good chance it will be, especially if it's a controversial decision, I could see a rematch similar to Ward Kovalev or even a 3 fight trilogy.

I think he's a little past his best, but we'll see from his performance in September and afterwards. It's a little early to say, also we don't know just how good Jacobs is either.

Hardly heard this kind of talk before this fight was announced.

No doubt GGG is not in his prime but nowadays, 35 is not that old. GGG has not taken much punishment and he does not depend mainly on his agility or reflexes, which are some of the first things to go. 3G's forte are his strength, power and chin which are the last to go. If guys like Floyd, JMM and Pac(who depended a lot on their agility and reflexes) were able to effectively fight into their mid to late 30's, there's no reason GGG can't do the same.

This all honestly feels like a simple attempt to make excuses in case GGG loses in Sept, thereby stealing all credit from Canelo.

    This is pretty bad IMO.

JCC Jr put on the most pathetic display I have ever seen in a PPV, and Canelo supposedly came out looking Godlike.

I always said Canelo was too small and made to order for GGG, I no longer think he's too small but I definitely think he's made to order.

Canelo is still fighting a bigger man in GGG but it's only about the same difference as GGG fighting Ward.

Canelo is pretty overrated still and no one will ever forget his pathetic display against Floyd so no matter what GGG does to him its still lose/lose for GGG because he won't get the same credit fighting a smaller Floyd left over.

I always said GGG needs to move up to prove himself and not pick on smaller fighters and that hasn't changed.

GGG fan here and if he loses to Canelo unless its a robbery on the cards which is very possible there should be no excuses. I dont think GGG has fallen off like some are making him out to. Hes still very close to his peak its just in his last fight he was in with problably the best fighter hes ever been in with who was his size, in fact a little bigger. Canelo gets full credit if he wins. I dont think he will. Canelo gets stopped late imho.

I can't wait and I don't care about the purse split as I don't get in dem pockets.

I feel GGG come forward style might play into that devastating uppercut Canelo loves to throw from mid and short range. I also think GGG has the power to sit Canelo down once in the fight if not finish him with a TKO win.

This could also go the distance with at least one or two 10-8 rounds for GGG. I truly think some fans are way too confident that GGG rolls through the BIG RED MACHINE:couch:

I think Canelo is too small for Triple G, too small of a target to hit. He’s going to have the same problem that Chavez had : Triple G is going to have to hunch over and aim lower than he normally does to try to land a punch on Canelo, and Canelo has a very tight guard. Canelo mixes up blocking, head movement and punches in very intelligent ways and Triple G’s not used to that. Combined with the hand speed advantage and instinctive punch variety that Canelo uses, it's nothing Triple G's ever seen before and it's going to be hard for him to prepare for that. If the Chavez fight told us anything, it’s that Canelo is very hard to hit. If you try to get inside on Canelo, you’re going to take some punishment. A good strategy vs Canelo is to use the jab to get inside and try to fight Canelo from the outside. (like Floyd & Lara did) Triple G has a solid jab, but he doesn’t much longer of a reach than Canelo, so Canelo's gonna be able to counter Triple G’s aggressive jab with jabs of his own as he comes in.

I don’t see how the way he fought Floyd was pathetic, but please enlighten me. He was feinting Floyd all over the ring, causing Floyd to react and pull back hard. He fought Floyd intelligently and gave Floyd his closest fight in years. He forced Floyd to reach deep into his bag of tricks, and gave him a difficult fight. I find it humorous who a lot of people keep throwing in how bad Canelo was vs Floyd when in reality he did pretty damn good considering his age and level of experience. That was 4 years ago, and he’s only gotten better since.

Canelo is going to pick up where Jacobs left off and beat GGG.

What true fan keeps hating on a fighter? If that fighter proves you wrong or keeps on winning, and his competition is getting better then why would they get mad that they can't hate anymore? WTF lmfao...

I didn't like GG until he beat Jacobs. I don't hate on GG anymore. And im glad he is fighting Canelo. I'm glad the Canelo is taking the fight. This fight gives GG a chance to become the lineal MW champion.
