Well, Ward will need to win impressively, something I'm convinced he cannot do against Kovalev.

Outside of the ring, Ward seems pretty mentally weak in some regards to me.

While many including himself claim he is humble and doesn't have an ego, Ward has always struck me as a dude who has a massive ego. One of those guys every one of us knows in life who is a great dude, brings a lot to the table in any situation, but when you break down their words and actions they are actually just demeaning in how righteous they are.
