Kovalev vs Ward HBO Face Off cancelled as Ward no show

I disagree that Ward is mentally weak but he is very sensitive, it does genuinely grate him that the vast majority felt Kovalev won, I think it does get to him.

 

Probably not the best promotional move but from a personal stand point I could care less. Ward likely isn't concerned with pleasing the masses his goal is to convince himself that he can win in impressive fashion. If Kovalev did the same I would have the same opinion, I'm not big in the drama just want to see the fight.

 

he could solve that by winning more than a few rounds this time. by not looking like he won the lottery when the decision is announced. by not looking like his face got ran over by a train at fights end.

 

He fought a great fight and won an awesome fight. Then he keeps saying he wants to retire and isn't interested in a rematch. Then he finally commits to the rematch, but sabotages any marketing for the fight. Ward is clearly a liability for our sport.

 

Ward was always a POS. This is the guy who poses as a true Christian, a man of faith yet he surrounds himself with gangsters like James Price, his manager. This is the guy who sued his former promoter 3 times and slandered his name in the media calling him a thief, when the old man was dying of cancer.

The mans just a bit of a diva. Has had a sulk on ever since he found out that most people didnt think he won the 1st fight and some other people dont see him as P4P number 1. He isnt the only diva in this sport but is one of the biggest. Then again i read he was asked to and expected to attend this event but he was not obligated.

 

It's extremely unprofessional to say the least. No boxers
should be in the habit of missing press conferences, or
any type of media events pertaining to their fights, especially
a fight of this magnitude. It's their job

 

I refrained from commenting earlier as I thought we needed more details, but it now seems clear that Ward has been extremely unprofessional as you say.

It's just one PR nightmare after another with Ward. Whoever his sports agent and public relations manager is must be permanently in a state of nervous breakdown.

 

Ward doesn't display disgusting behavior, but he does annoying actions. Anyone calling him a POS or disgusting need to look at guys like Broner or Mayweather. Ward is just a diva. He's a religious family man, like Pacquiao, difference is he's like a snobby business man.

That said, Ward should've showed up and it's disrespectful to the fans that he didn't. But by no means do I believe his actions justify being labeled "disgusting" or "piece of ****". You guys are waaay too emotional and I think it runs deeper than Ward.
