Nobody says Size beats every short fighter, show me someone making that very case? You can't.

It is a case of the whole package every time. The best bigger fighters, and in most cases these days, it is much bigger fighters, beat the smaller guys. That is why we have not seen a 6'2 210 pound real heavyweight champion since the middle of the 90s. Pre- Lewis, 20 years ago.

I had to double check this but Valuev beat Real Deal, but if I recall it was a bit of a robbery...

I think if Valuev was a little more skilled, I think people could make a case for Valuev winning due to some of the advantages like Size he would have, but he just wasn't very good to begin with and against better fighters his size wouldn't mean a thing. Chag showed that easily.

I've read plenty of posts saying so-and-so can't beat A.N. Other because he is 240llbs and 6ft 6ins, with little else stated to back the argument. Even in this reply, you've spent most of the time talking about size.

So answer me this. Taking size out of the equation - because you now accept smaller HWs can beat much taller, heavier ones - why does Joshua beat Ali?

Almost as disgusting as Valuev's cranium. Looks like Hasim's head after the Evander fight, 24/7...

This is the heavyweight division size is a factor even for Ali who was one of the larger heavyweights of his era. Ali, out talled, out reached, or out weighed 85% of the heavyweights he fought.

Joshua would cut off the ring against Ali, and would eventually be it and hurt by Joshua, and when Joshua unloads his powerful fast combinations Ali is finished.

I don't see it, against a prime Ali, or should I say Cassius Clay. An older more deteriorated version of Ali would probably get beat the way you're saying, but if we're talking prime for prime, I think your statement is a little crazy.

But you took the size factor out of the equation when deciding Joshua would beat Valuev. How come you can do that only when it suits?

So affording Ali the same luxury you afforded Joshua in a hypothetical match up with Valuev, are you saying Joshua beats Ali because he has a better skill set? I assume you think AJ overcomes a 4ins and 70llbs disadvantage against Valuev because of talent? Couldn't Ali's talent bridge the physical disadvantages compared to AJ in exactly the same way?

Ali gets hit, but that's not my point. In his prime he had an advanced skillset, a skillset many fighters have tried to duplicate like a Tyson Fury for example, but nobody does it better than Ali. The flickering jab, the beautiful movement, the combination punching, would have all been too much for a still learning Anthony Joshua. I think to say Joshua beats Ali right now, is crazy. And I'm a fan of Anthony Joshua.

Ali poses no real punching threat to Joshua.

Ali had great reflexes and speed when he was younger no doubt, but he still got hit, and he never faced a power puncher as devastating as Joshua during his whole career.

Light punching Henry Cooper caught Ali often, and even though he was a very light puncher, he hurt Ali badly, if it was Joshua he would never of got up.

Here's a question Dren. If Ali time traveled - he was a clever guy let's not put anything beyond him - and appeared in his prime in 2017, at 6ft 3ins what do you think he would have weighed? Considering modern training and diet etc?
