I'm picking Thurman to knock him out. Not only does Spence have problems with slicksters, but he is also hiding a glass jaw.

Spence very much doesn't like fighters who use movement and are able to slip and counter punches.

Pacquaio would have given him fits.

He works best when he can outpoint fighters from range, control the pace and remain on the front foot - VERY MUCH LIKE ADRIEN "GOT PROBLEMS" BRONER. However he is way more legit than Mr.Adrien.

Thurman likes to stand and box...and remain on the BACKFOOT. Good style matchup for Spence.

I still rate Spence higher than Brook & Thurman...them two have been fapping around for way too many years now...meanwhile Spence is progressing at a good pace.

Brook is more flat footed than that fellow. He is a precision fighter.

    Spence is less so.

so you are using footage from a 2011 amateur fight, when Spence had not yet developed into the talent that he is now? Spence putting hands on Mayweather in sparring more recently than that amateur point fighting is more meaningful in my opinion. Besides, Brook isn't slick, anyway.

Brook isn't slick? Really? Ask @Willie Maeket about that, he changed his tune.:deal: Brook is as slick as they come.

Where's the evidence Spence has developed into this monster talent? Who has he beaten that's actually worth a damn? What he KO'd Broner and beat up Mayweather in sparring, so what, Okolie and Price beat up AJ, and would you pick either of them to beat him in an actual match?

No, Brook is not slick. While Brook does have some offensive athleticism, he is not a slick fighter. Some people throw the word slick around far too loosely, or maybe they just have a different definition of what slick is. In my opinion, "slick" usually refers to fighters who possess certain defensive techniques, like using head and body movement, along with their legs, to avoid punches. Winky Wright, and Joshua Clottey have great high guard defenses, but neither falls under the slick category. Pernell Whitaker, Floyd Mayweather, Willie Pep, Guillermo Rigondeaux, Dmitri Pirog, etc. I consider all of those guys to be slick fighters. Brook doesn't possess those types of defensive attributes.

This fight is going to age both guys. That said, Spence is going to win via stoppage. Brook should've took a softer touch.

Did this thread go from Aug 26 2016 to today??? It is like everyone went into a coma at the same time all woke up and continued on like no time had passed. Very strange..

People confuse 'slick' with 'flashy' sometimes. Kell isn't flashy but his slickness is displayed by efficient movement rather than balletic. Nothing is wasted or without purpose, which partly explains his great engine post Carson Jones 1 - which was a totally unnecessary gut-check, but one nonetheless. That fight was his wake-up call and his career needs judging after that point. Before that scare, he was indisciplined, after it, dedicated. A wholly different fighter. He wastes little, almost appearing flat-footed at times because he relies on small effective movements rather than huge eye-catching steps in and out of range.

I see timing and judgment of distance - allied to great strength at the weight - as his two best qualities, after all he was able to land on GG more than any other fighter (albeit for a couple of rounds only) for good reason. His timing is exceptional allowing him to land punches from that awkward range where he's hard to find. Spence should walk him down with extreme caution...

Excellent post, you always do great job of saying what I want to say but am too lazy or unwilling to put in the effort to type out.
