It probably wasn't far off. Hearn said it broke the British PPV record which probably means at least 1.2m buys at £19.95. plus £7m from the live gate. Plus US TV rights were sold for a reported £2.3m. That's £33.24m ($42.8m). Plus whatever they made through advertising and sponsorships. It's likely pushing $50m.

Joshua is bigger and has higher ceiling as to how popular he can get in the future. Heavyweight division is where it's at.

Social media is the barometer, really. The home of dumb popstars and reality whores.

You do know that this fight made over 1 mil PPV at $74.99
$75 mil - 1/2 for networks leaves $37.5 mil for Canelo and Chavez

Right, in general the fight generated $50 + Mil but that's not Joshua's purse.

No question at all AJ is more popular - overall.

He has more fans than Canelo, as proved by his number of followers.

Yeah nobody was saying Joshua himself made that much. He personally reportedly made about £15m ($19.33m) in total from that fight.

Yep but you are taking about gross revenue from the promotion. That pays for all the other fights on the card and the promo costs.

The figures I provided are the audited actual figures received by each fighters camp as provided to the governing bodies (NSAC for Canelo) and for tax reporting. Its what the fighters camp actually receives, with all the imaginary bollox taken out.

Think you're ignorant to just how big AJ is in the UK and Europe. AJ is probably the biggest sports star in the UK right now. Unless you're in the country/ continent you can't understand. I know Canelo is big too over there, but I doubt he has the global reach. As someone else said, Joshua is an Olympic gold medalist too.

You don't know **** about the Olympics. Joshua represent Great Britain, not the United Kingdom.
