Kamanga didn't even really earn the lolly, IMO.

Peach, maybe, or some crappy flavor like that. Definitely none of the premium ones.

I feel like even Charlie Zelenoff, if he could scrape together airfare to Georgia (the country... not the hick state that he could probably bus to from his own hick state in a couple of hours) could probably collect his first legitimate W over Avekyan.

That wasn't even Saltwater Taffy or Circus Peanuts worthy.

I guess Yerneshov vs. McGurk is ...being skipped over/canceled? ...pushed ahead for a walkout bout? ...the actual main event? ...over already, somehow displaced on the card from its rightful co-feature status to happening prior to such pedestrian fare as Mtimkulu vs. Gvajava and that last spectacle?

    I'm stumped.

I thought Zhuravskiy edged that one.

    Round 1

Zhuravskiy is walking down the slick unbeaten Dutch-Brit, forking out southpaw jabs. Danyo is slapping at his lower mandible with quick, light hooks and using lots of movement. Zhuravskiy marches him into the ropes and they clinch. 1-2 by Danyo, lightly thrown but holding Zhuravskiy off long enough for Danyo to skitter around the corner and reposition himself. Danyo not landing much (and nothing with authority) but has the ring generalship, making Zhuravskiy plod after him. Zhuravskiy follows a blocked right jab with a HEAVY but slow left cross, which Danyo cranes his neck and watches pass overhead.

    10-9 Danyo, close, getting-to-know-you round

I can definitely see the case for it. Danyo was pushing the envelope as far as how much you can run & gingerly pot shot and still be said to have won a round. Zhuravskiy was at least gunning for him, so the judges probably gave it to him. And the Boet TV highlights of course show multiple different angles of his big 1-2 as highlights even though it was a blocked jab and missed cross.

    Round 2

Zhuravskiy is using his bent right forearm held out horizontally to block and to shepherd Danyo into the ropes. Danyo tries some quick hummingbird jabs and slap-hooks but Zhuravskiy screens them on his right forearm. Zhuravskiy tags him with a solid left hand lead and Danyo is quick to pound the pavement.

    10-9 Zhuravskiy

    19-19

I hate to say it, but I know Danyo as a slick counterpuncher who is sometimes lazy and gives away rounds being inactive, but makes his opponent look bad.
After 2 rounds I don't see him wininng this.

    Round 3

Zhuravskiy is whipping big pendulous lefts into Danyo's body to slow him down. Wise strategy. Danyo adjusts, skipping laterally along the ropes in doubletime, one leg kicking sidelong after the other in a continuous fluid loop. Quick and sharply accurate but weak jabs from Danyo. Zhuravskiy walks him into the ropes. Danyo throws his full body weight into a 1-2 and Zhuravskiy repels it with just a nudge of his glove. Danyo is decidedly NOT his equal in physical strength. Danyo seems to be realizing this rapidly and is sniffing out higher ground. Zhuravskiy gives him no quarter. Left uppercuts downstairs by Zhuravskiy with Danyo pinned on the ropes. Danyo rips the hardest left hook on the liver he can but it doesn't even budge Zhuravskiy.

    10-9 Zhuravskiy

    29-28 Zhuravskiy

    Round 1 Zhuravskiy 10-9 Close
    Round 2 Zhuravskiy 10-9 Close
    Round 3 Zhuravskiy 10-9

Danyo wilting already, seemed hurt a few times that round.

I like his style (on paper, aesthetically) but I think his cherry is getting popped with a kayo loss today..

Just too little snap on his punches. Zhuravskiy could probably bench press him for the entire scheduled duration of the fight, whereas Danyo probably couldn't do a bicep curl of Zhuravskiy's groin cup.
