Zhuravskiy is playing the only active role here, plowing Danyo across the ring and leading with jabs. Intermittent signs of life from Danyo, throwing straight flurries with his back arched before straightening up to retreat, whereupon Zhuravskiy redoubles his efforts and reaches in with a spiteful jab and/or shotgun left, some of them knocking Danyo's head back.

Round 8

Zhuravskiy is fencing with Danyo, prodding him into a corner with the southpaw jab and daring him to engage, leaving the right arm suspended and swirling it around Danyo's counter left jab in riposte. Danyo wants no part of him, spacing himself out, twitching in with a tentative jab while keeping his feet planted well outside and chin hidden behind the upheld right, then ducking to push at Zhuravskiy's midsection as he closes in. Zhuravskiy is shaking off Danyo's holding attempts, grinding his shoulders into Danyo's chest, imposing his superior physicality. Danyo falling back on his edge in athleticism but his speed has diminished as the odometer climbs. Zhuravskiy having an easier time getting to him with those march-in right jabs.

Round 9

Zhuravskiy is carrying the right hand low, resting against his thigh in hopes of tempting Danyo into desperately opening up to recoup points. Zhuravskiy laughs as he draws up the well-pail and flicks a few playful southpaw jabs at Danyo, imploring him to fight toe to toe. Danyo stays on his bike, although its treads are worn. Danyo resorting to falling in on Zhuravskiy off false-flag wild-pitch jabs and holding. Zhuravskiy smirks and waits for the ref, in no hurry. Danyo tries a right uppercut in close and Zhuravskiy oscillates his upper body while covering it up with his arms, fists bunched at his chin. More clinching from Danyo, stalling for time until the bell.

@BoxingNL has Danyo never fought a pressure fighter (or a southpaw) before, that you've seen? Even a mediocre one? He seems totally perplexed, and Zhuravskiy, while impressive considering his obscurity and sketchy pedigree, is throwing some textbook color-by-numbers Boxing 101 stuff at him tonight..

 

Actually in Southampton UK, confusingly, but televised only in Russia, not on any Brit outlets.

Zhuravskiy watches bemusedly at mid-range as Danyo, suddenly more lively, makes a gambit to impress the judges, throwing a bevy of lead rights while rapidly circling to his own right. Zhuravskiy is ducking in place and feinting with the jab, toying with Danyo, seeming to enjoy the brief moments of leather exchanged when both are simultaneously firing straights. Time out for some reason, gum shield of Danyo came loos or something, moot point as the bell sounds moments after time in.
