Well... if Rahman and McCall could, Wlad, AJ, Wilder and Fury could. Its not that much of an illogical stretch.
I'm assuming we're talking about a prime, focus and in-shape Lennox Lewis. If that's the case, I don't think any of today's fighter's could beat him. Joshua has great power but he's a bit stiff and robotic in his movements. Not saying that Lennox is the most fluid guy in the HW division, but he has better movement and also a better array of punches. I think his jabwork would stifle Joshua and he'd probably get him out of there inside 7 or 8 rounds. I can't see Joshua's chin hold up all night against Lennox' right hand. As far as Fury and Wilder go, I give both men even less of a chance. I like Fury as an entertainer, but he's become a bit overrated on this forum. He took on arguably the worst version of Wladimir (who just didn't throw any punches in that fight.) Had Wladimir fought in the same manner as he did with AJ, I have my doubts that Fury would've won. Anyway, not to discredit Tyson, it was a helluva win especially given he fought on foreign soil to win the title, but I also think he'd get knocked out inside 6 or 7 rounds to Lennox. Hard for me to believe his chin would hold up when I saw him get buzzsawed by a single punch from a longtime CW in Cunningham. I have no doubts Lennox would beat any version of Wladimir. His chin wouldn't hold up against Lennox's shots. No way. Vitali is a different story though... Now as far as older generation fighter's, I can think of a few guys who could beat Lennox. Not to simplify it, but it would take a well rounded fighter with an abundance of speed, power and good defensive abilities. A few guys from the HW past have those qualities.
Of today I can't really think of anyone that would best him. Joshua comes closest, but I think Lennox would hurt him at some stage and finish him off. Wlad in his prime would have given him fits, but I still think Lennox would have got to him at some stage. Parker isn't really good enough, and Povetkin would be badly outsized. Wilder is a big lol. That'd be over in a round or two. Of guys from the past, I'd pick a prime Wlad like I said, prime Holy and prime Tyson to all give him a competitive fight. Don't know if they'd win or not, but they'd be in with a great chance. Vitali I think got lucky with Lennox, and would end up getting beaten down by a fresher more prepared version. Holmes might give him a few problems, and Ali of course, but honestly I think Lennox would take them. Anyone pre-70s is just too small and crude.
Lennox was a dominant champion. Same as the other great heavies. All of them are not perfect. Arguably any of them at their best day can beat the other. As for Lennox, a few have done that even in his reign. McCall KO him, Rahman did, Mercer and Vitali almost did. A prime Tyson could have, and so can the past and present greats.
Honestly I think we can list a few names who we think may beat him - and put forward a reasonable argument why × or y could beat him, but if we do best of 10 I dont really see him losing 0-10 to anyone Could be wrong but just my 2 cents
He did avenge his losses and I can't believe you guys really are mentioning Joshua he wouldn't have a chance in hell he obliterated the eye of vitally who was the. Enter brother played with Tyson beat Holyfield twice even tho the first was a draw watch the fight and I just can't see anyone dealing with Lewis
You given AJ a chance against Lennox after having him lose soundly to Charles Martin, Breazele and Molina Hahaha!?
Of course Anthony Joshua would have a chance, it takes an aggressive fighter with huge punching power to beat Lennox Lewis, i would give Anthony Joshua and Mike Tyson the best chances to beat him. Wlad wouldn't have a good chance because he is too cautious. Other ones who could have beaten him are Vitali Klitschko, Riddick Bowe, Larry Holmes and Muhammad Ali but unlikely.
Who had him losing soundly to Breazeale and Molina? Not I. And whose alt are you? Feb 2017 join date, yet you know all about my Martin pick. Hmmm
So Wlad would lose because he's too cautious? McCall and Rahman both KO'd him and they did so by timing him, not by being aggressive. You do realize that Lennox was a pretty decent counter puncher and would have feasted on an overly aggressive AJ right? Tyson was KO'd by Lewis, and probably would have been KO'd in his prime as well, and I love Tyson.
