I've seen ggg noticeably stunned to the chin and bothered to the body, not ever as far as being hurt. Check round 5 vs Ariza, his 12th or 13th pro fight. He got chin checked with a bomb out of left field and it landed perfectly on the chin. For him to just be stunned is amazing, shots you don't see are supposed to be abke to hurt you. DJ, I think bothered him a little to the body which slowed him, i believe. The chin check slowed him for a little but by the end of the round it was bombs away again. This was pre Abel, and not all about power. Look how much faster he was before Abel sold him on only power mattering.
We were there, you didn't know each of us are part time cornermen for our fav fighter. How do you think everyone gets all the inside info spewed like gospel
Damn, Staminakills knows his Golovkin history He's right, ths is about as hurt as GGG has ever been, against Amar Amari: This content is protected Frankly ... if that was any other fighter nobody would even have noticed. Golovkin may have clinched to clear his head, but his balance was there and he still seemed focused, so the amount he was stunned (if at all) is debatable. IMHO Stevens landed the shot that affected Golovkin the most, stiffening his leg for an instant and iirc stopping his advance for a while. And that's it. Jacobs landed some blistering shots that did a total of zero to both head and body, and Brook landed a huge uppercut that would likely have wobbled if not floored most other guys, to little avail. That all said, nobody is impregnable. Anybody following the Toney thread saw Toney in deep dog doo against pillowfisted Tiberi, who plumb wore him out with an incessant attack. Anybody following boxing knows that cliff-chinned Foreman succumbed to relatively light punchers because of sheer exhaustion. Even Hagler was wobbled by Hearns ... said punch was so vicious it burst Hearns' hand like shrapnel and probably did more damage to his hand than to Hagler's chin, but still. So, yes. I believe Golovkin can be hurt, but the circumstances for that to happen will likely have to be exceptional. More relevant is what Golovkin will do to the other guy in the process, methinks.
Exactly, I have stated before his mandible is forged steel thanks to the perfect storm mixture of his Russian Father and Korean Mother. That being said, he can be out-pointed if he doesn't land that big shot. Watched Rhodes vs. Canelo last night, and Canelo boxed beautifully against a man that takes a great shot and I'm sure he has the tools to pull an upset...-unless, that is, he is slowed by the power of GGG. If Canelo goes down, all bets are off and finesse goes out the window and Canelo gets TKO'd. But I'm not sure. This will be a great fight!
I think Canelo can hurt GGG with his combos. A single shot will not take down GGG. A triple combo that lands flush might make him stunned then Canelo can try and take him out.
Well Boxing Ego seems to think so and uses that super uppercut from Brook that would have likely decked most guys as an example,he makes the point that after that GGG went wild and so did his corner actually. Ego seems to be bias towards Canelo though so I dunno
Honestly, his chin has probably surpassed Vitali Klitschko's at this point. And that's really saying something. GGG - never TKO'd in a kickboxing match like Vitali was - never phased by a punch like Vitali was against Lewis uppercut - never phased by a punch like Vitali was against Sanders left hook I'm sure it's possible to hurt GGG, but no one has ever done it. Iron beard, for sure.
lol when you can only show a clip of Golovkin briefly stunned not even wobbled then you know what you dealing with in terms of his 400 fights and you can only find that but many eliete fighters have been sparked by journeymen and dropped etc Badu jack for example was knocked out by a gatekeeper many many more examples ward was dropped and also hurt many times recently by paul smith LOL
He did go wild after that didn't he,in many respects you could say it was Kell Brooks undoing though I was amazed he survived that bomb in round one, that would of floored Jacobs for sure. His corner was in panic mode too I reckon, that said there's a difference between being hurt and going down,SOB said he wasn't hurt when Kovalev knocked him down,I'm a GGG fan but I'd like to see Canelo knock him down just to see how he'd handle it,AJ showed maturity beyond his years by going down and taking a count I thought
I think it adds to the mystery and fear of GGG,imagine in all those Amateur fights and never being down? Lol we can say the same for Canelo though can't we,I suspect his chin is iron too?
