I think Ward kind of figured out some things towards the end, too. But he will have to once again deal with a fresh Sergey for the early rounds, and that's always going to be a daunting task for anyone. In other words, Ward is going to have to walk a dangerous path to get to the point where he can utilize those things he did figure out.

    Thanks!

On an unrelated note, I sang so many stupid songs about Canelo and Gennady in 2015, that I almost feel obligated to do one final swansong now that they actually are scheduled to fight. But I don't think I got another one in me.

That has always been the bottom line for me too. I had Ward just edging it, but whichever way that decision went, it was the type of fight that automatically demanded a rematch. And in a day and age when all too often we don't get the big fights when we want them, if at all, it's a breath of fresh air to see guys like Kovalev and Ward give the fans what the want, not once, but twice in a 7 month stretch.

These guys should serve as a model to other champions aspiring for greatness.

i give pro boxers the benefit of the doubt and highly respect what they do. When it comes to Ward tho he does foul too much and gets away with it! Excessive holding and hitting in the clinch. As the last US gold medalist he is protected to a point. Sergey is the visitor just the way it is

Yeah true but I think Andre has some of that FMJ mentality where he's not afraid to stink the joint out in order to get the W.

I expect the first few rounds to be cautious and close then Ward to start timing Kov and getting inside the jab with the latter half of the fight to resemble the 2nd half of the first fight, just with a closer first half leading to an 8-4-ish rounds decision to Ward.

The one thing could be if Sergei decides to come out guns blazing in the first few rounds and try and get him out of there. Risky though as if he doesn't he'd obviously fade worse down the stretch. Also I don't expect him to as I think Kovalev thinks of himself as both the boxer and the puncher in this fight. Whereas I think Ward has a bit more to his game and if he can sufficiently stifle the Jab by good control of distance he will pick up rounds with body work and odd 1/2 punch bursts.

A fresh Sergey couldn't take advantage of the KD he got in the second round of the first fight. He won't be able to improve upon the performance. Ward owns him in the rematch.

    Nice video as always...

So how come Ward didn't own Kovalev in the last rounds then? Kovalev clearly won round 10, round 11-12 were very close. There is nothing to suggest the rematch won't be as close as the first fight.

I had the first fight as a draw. I thought it was going to be a complete beat-down after the first KD. I think Ward is the superior boxer, Kov tried to outbox Ward and the controversy happened. If Kov sticks to plan A, knock Ward out within 6rds I think he can do that without much issue. After Ward's team annoyed Kovalev I think that is his plan this time round. I think Kov is coming for the KO, and he'll finish Ward this time.

Like I said on the YT channel I strongly feel Ward boxes his way to the finish line with a win.

Live viewing Kovalev by 3 points. I have Kov winning 1,2,4,5,6,10,12 plus 1KD.
Second viewing Kov by 1 point giving the 12 to Ward.

Yeah I went with Ward against Brand. I may troll sometimes, but I'm not willing to troll away every inch of credibility I have.

When I wrote that I was visualizing the Chilemba KD, that was step up by the body shot. I could se something similar happening.

Ward UD, again, with the majority scoring it for him. 116-112 type totals.
