I dont buy that he was holding back. Just look at the look on his face in the Jacobs fight rounds 10,11, and 12. He was trying his hardest to get rid of DJ.

I can't believe I'm writing this but as of now I'm picking Canelo to win by SD or very close UD.
Even Doug Fischer has changed his pick from GGG dominantly to 50/50 with the edge to Canelo. All Canelo has to do is win 7 rounds. If DJ could get 6 rounds on one card with GGG being the A side then surely so can Canelo with Canelo being the huge A side in this event.

I think Canelo's explosive combos will have GGG wary and careful. I also think Canelo beats GGG to the punch in the exchanges letting GGG know he is in with the younger faster and fresher man. Sure, Canelo doesnt move as well as DJ but Canelo puts his punches together much better than DJ does.

GGG will beat the living hell out of Canelo in a one sided match that will showcase his superiority. Alas, he will get robbed on the cards.

Canelo jumps out to an early lead but GGG comes back and stops him in the championship rounds

This pretty much echo's my thoughts, I think Canleo outbox's GGG quite comfortably, While he doesn't move around the ring like jacobs canelo actually has exceptional head and upper-body movement and when you are as sharp as canelo has looked recently ( much sharper than jacobs imo ), this could prove to be nightmare for GGG who has looked rather slow and could ultimately make him look silly.

Anyone who think's GGG is sharp and quick is deluded, The guy is slow as hell, He also seems to get frustrated very quickly when anybody start's having success.

I got Canelo by competitive but clear decision or a competitive late stoppage.

Canelo is faster and sore fluid combination puncher than anyone has fought, with a big edge in speed and defense Alvarez can put together enough solid shots early and often to carry him to the win all GGG really has is power.

I feel this ends in the 11th by TKO or KO from GGG but the scorecards will be dead even or one guy up by only one round. Canelo is no pushover

    GGG late TKO

I think this will be a 12 rounder, or if it is a stoppage very late. 50/50 on the winner. Canelo has looked better lately, but then his opponents have been markedly lower level (except Khan, who was always a KO waiting to happen in that fight). Edge in hand speed, combos and upper body movement to Canelo. Power, jab, footwork and feints to GGG. Both excellent bodypunchers.

Faster fighters than GGG have struggled to land jabs on Canelo guys who predicate there whole game plan on jabbing were held to career lows vs Canelo. GGG isn't the best pure boxer Canelo has fought and doesn't have the speed or movement to give him trouble. As far as cutting off the ring a counter puncher wants you to come forward so they can counter, again based on styles and what each fighter wants to do the only thing GGG has is power. If GGG was a Mobile defensive fighter you may have a point but stylewise Golovkin doesn't have the attributes to beat Alvarez imo.
