Dont blame Deontay, listening to him talk and seeing the way he acts he seems dumb as a Rock to be honest. And thats just how he rationalizes the criticism.
If Mike Tyson wanted attention he could get it ALOT easier doing a million other things than criticizing Wilder when he is asked about him.

Tyson of 2000 and earlier beats Wilder easy. Tysons chin is underrated. He was never dropped early, never dropped by a single punch to the head(aka got chinned) never went down from Headshots without getting completely outclassed and savagely beaten down for several rounds first(until he tore his knee at almost 40 years old against 265 pound Danny wlliams and even then it took 20 clean shots on the head to put him down). When he was in shape, prime and motivated he took Razor Ruddocks best shots clean on the chin several times in 19 rounds and kept punching and going forward asking him to hit him again. Lennox Lewis said he was shocked at the punches he was absorbing when he was a shell of his former self.

I'm with Wilder on this one. Tyson is just a has-been piggybacking on Wilder's name in an attempt to stay relevant.

Why wouldnt he piggy back off Joshua or Canelos name then if all he wanted was to stay relevant? Who cares about wilder? He could just go do or say something outrageous again like he used to if he just wanted publicity. No one in the general public has any idea whatsoever who Wilder is, and Tyson mentioning him doesnt get him 1% of the publicity he'd get from punching or biting another celebrity or releasing a sextape or something stupid like that.

He already has been piggybacking off Joshua's name. Type in Mika Tyson on Joshua and there are at least 10 different interviews he has done dropping his name with one basically saying how Joshua is just like him.

Are you sure he's dropping Joshua's Name and not just being asked about him? If Tyson was so desperate to stay relevant in boxing then he would have kept fighting like Holyfield. He could go call out and fight James Toney or Roy Jones.

It takes less effort to simply drop names of some of the biggest fighters today, then actually go through a gruelling 3 month training camp for fights no one will give you credit for.

Wilder will be past his prime before he fought five top 10 opponents! Unbelievable.

He can be all not bothered on camera but as a world heavyweight champion knockout artist and an American it must hurt him inside a little to hear Tysons view is not one of full love. But then if he wants the accolades from people who really know the sport he knows what he has to do. Cuz he only has the casuals fooled so far.

Not even them. No one in the US knows who Deontay Wilder is. He can walk across Time Square in New York and no one will turn their heads and recognize him.

There was a time when Wilder came across as quite a likeable if brash dude with a reasonable understanding of his place in the sport and respect for what it would take to achieve his goals, but these last few years he's become increasingly deluded and defensive. He's said he doesn't really pay attention to any of his competition, but even he must have surely understood by now that his resume is really not what it should be for a fighter of his calibre. Rather than accept this and try to change his situation, however, he's taken to lashing out at anyone who gives him the least bit of criticism, which only serves to paint him as a childish and overly sensitive d!ckhead divorced from reality. His ridiculous callouts of any and everybody have nobody fooled, and in light of his past conduct can only be viewed as desperate attention seeking for a fighter who likely knows deep down that he's not fulfilling people's expectations of him but whose increasingly bloated ego cannot bring itself to accept that openly.

It's a bit of a sad situation really, but somewhat inevitable giving the circumstances that led him to this juncture. He just isn't cut out for the level of responsibility that's been put on his shoulders but has been brainwashed by the people around him into thinking he is while simultaneously being steered away from anyone who might be a threat to him.
