Saying"he had nothing," is not "ambiguous",it is by definition an absolute!

    Zero.

Reminds of the debate we had with Jan a few months back regarding a stress fracture and he was adament you can apply heat!......he never did supply any evidence to back it up though!

It is the very definition of an ambiguous statement.

    He had no what?

    Nothing to trouble you with?

    No power?

    Nothing unexpected?

Why then do you always rank him among your top ten opponents?

Were there really only half a dozen or so of them who were any good?

I think Janitor is Corbyn's mentor. Their limpet-like commitment to what they think the facts should represent but don’t and never will do, is too uncanny.

    Political opinions are like penises.

It is OK to have one, but it is not OK to wave it around!

I wonder whether or not the General Election Campaign Managers subscribe to that philosophy?

This is not a political forum.

    Keep it on the boxing.

And yet, you were the first person to use the term "political opinions" (as well as your mention of male genitalia, for some strange reason). You just can't help exposing yourself as a hypocrite, can you? ;)

Presumably you can distinguish between boxing history politics and actual politics?

Our opinions about Carnera have nothing to do with our actual political beliefs, but there are still clearly two political factions around the question.

Neither is it a boxing forum when you're posting about Carnera!

The part you missed from sharkey quote was:

"The fellows a better fighter than given credit for. Carneras style and his reach, you've got to find a way to get to him, well I did that the first time. The second time I realised I'd just do the same thing again, but I didn't give him credit that he might improve. He handled me with ease. He picked me up bodily and placed me over near the ropes. Those arms were like limbs of a tree and, when he put them in front of him, there was nothing to hit." -Jack sharkey

The parts you missed from Joe Louis's quote was:

"he couldn't punch, but he had a pretty decent Jab. He pushed with his right but he was awkward. Mostly he tried to scare me with his weight. It was hard to get under his guard at first, but chappie told me to pace myself and the openings would come"
"(Because)he never hurt me once, I felt ready for any heavyweight in the world - jimmy Braddock, Max Baer, anybody." -
    joe Louis.
