Here is Round 2 of the Max Baer vs. Primo Carnera title fight. After all the debate of Carnera recently, I wanted to 'enhance' an entire round of one of his bouts. Brief description: Carnera goes down early in the round a bunch of times from big punches and wrestling. He spends the rest of the round boxing Baer, while trying to balance on his badly inured ankle. I stabilized, and speed corrected the high quality footage. https://streamable.com/xg0ag Updated: Added Round 3. Also stabilized and speed corrected. https://streamable.com/qmdla
I wonder why you bother sometimes. Whatever you come up with, the people who have an agenda against Carnera, will find some way to cast it as a negative. You put a lot of effort and expertise into producing this high quality footage, but it is wasted on a significant section of the audience!
Apart from showing us how easy it was to was to hit him with crude,.telegraphed, roundhouse swings with absolutely no technique behind them, what does this clip show? Here he is being easily tagged by novice Impelletiere. This content is protected
How in gods name does the footage, in anyway, boost Carneras standing.? Mind boggling to say the least.
It looks like you were right my friend. I chose this round because it shows Carnera under some serious adversity. He shows incredible gameness by staying in the fight, and desperately trying to balance on that ankle. By the end of the round, he is pushing off his bad ankle to land straight punches on Baer, who seems to be recuperating his energy after Primo absorbed so much. I wanted to show a round where you see some of his weaknesses and his strengths, since there has been a small group complaining about "Cherry Picking." I tried to post footage where Primo doesn't win the round, and now they are complaining that Primo doesn't do well enough (!). Well, it seems that some people have their minds made up, and will only see things a certain way. All in all, it's worth it for the posters that appreciate it.
As I similarly put to you in the *Benny Leonard calls Primo Carnera's defense "Marvelous”* thread but you declined to reply… ...You want to declare Primo as being injured and debilitated from as early as round-1 ...You new want to convince us he is struggling with the damaged ankle in round-2 ...but you also, in the "Marvelous" thread, used clips of round-7 and declared that they demonstrated Carnera "using his size, reach, mobility, defense, and jab to world class effect" and claim that I was "ignoring [Carnera's] distance and footwork" in that clip? Which is it?
The doctor declared it, and Columbus hospital disclosed it (http://imgur.com/a/Zs9Fc) The footage backs it up (https://streamable.com/h8y9f) You are saying the doctor lied. Primo lied. Baer lied. Primo doesn't struggle to balance on an injured ankle during the fight. Primo didn't need to go to the hospital after the fight. Is this fake too? https://streamable.com/udc5m Stupid moron. I didn't "decline" to respond to your last post. Who do you think you are, channel 6 news?
That was great! Good work. How long does it take you to do something like that? If you ever get around to doing whole fights, let me know. I'd love to see them. Peace.
Thanks Dub! It depends. The stabilizing takes a while. I would definitely like to do a whole fight like this. I will look into it and let you know.
Carnera lands a hard jab right to Baer's nose about two-thirds of the way thru, and Baer makes a face and then starts backing up the rest of the way ... leaving two dark rings under Baer's eyes. That one hard jab turned the tide in the round that Carnera was losing badly. What software do you use to produce these videos? They always look great ... even down to the facial expressions.
I'm not going to get into the clip and what it shows or doesn't show In Re: Primo... What I will say is, Max looks gassed by round 2, and his stache, what a stache he had.
Acts smart when making point. Acts dumb when proven wrong. Yeah man, that jab rocked him. His face had to do a whole reset lol. Good spot. Also, Primo gets away from Baers counter quicker than he can throw it. It's a combination of sourcing quality footage, and getting the most out of them. I mainly use Adobe Premier when on PC, and Final Cut on Mac.
