Lol Mayweather is still getting people butthurt. He retired when he got his career highest payday, and fought one more time to finish his contract, he was 39 and didnt feel like fighting professionally anymore. He left with his finances and health intact. That should be commended and lol at Mayweather vs GGG, how desperate are GGG fans for GGG to finally get some mainstream attention?
Mayweather did plenty to damage the sport but he didnt dduck GGG or retire at the wrong time LOL.

If anything Mayweather has helped fighters because once he showed how much diva stuff you can get away with, and how you can become a huge name with a safety first style, more fighters started taking less risks, being more business savy and being less likely to be exploited by promoters. Its less interesting for the fans but the fighters benefitted. Thats what you could argue "damaged the sport" but i just played devils advocate.

Mayweather GGG is the biggest Joke ive ever heard, Mayweather would get beaten up and it wouldnt prove anything for GGG at all. Its just a pipe dream for GGG supporters for GGG to get some attention

If this ever happens at least he won't have to change his TBE tag.

    The Biggest Embarrassment.

I was wondering why all these Floyd hate threads were popping up. You guys still aren't over this dude making money on yet another hype job, Ronda Rousey 2.0, the male version. I remember when a bunch of haters were all on that bandwagon. Wheres Ronda now. Same with Connor and other flavor of the months which is all that is produced now.

This is what I like about Floyd. The spotlight was on him his entire career. These Fury's, GGG's, Connors, Rondas, all these clowns only have a short life span. They were cool while it lasted but they will never stand the test of time like Floyd has. Floyd earned it. If you don't like it, don't watch.

UFC are dumber than I thought if they let McGregor box Floyd.

It's clear that after that fight Conor's stock will drop and he will never have to fight in the UFC again anyway.

They should have just forced him to fight in the UFC, it would be better for them financially and also promotion-wise. This fight won't promote the UFC, it will promote Floyd and boxing.

The fight is getting closer to a reality, there is too much money to be made for it not to happen

If it happens, will you be on Mayweather side cheering violently against Mcgregor ?

Just wondering whether for this one off event, ALL boxing fans, *******s, *****s etc will unite against the MMA fanboys ?

All I've heard are rumors. Is there anything official? I've read Dana White says McGregor would make 75M IF Floyd agrees. I don't see how that flies with Floyd unless he makes 150M. Dana knows it too. Floyd will be 50 by the time this fight is made. I think White is using the PR for what it is.

    well of course i agree

but to be honest, when i come across this side show on youtube, i'll probably check it out--but not with the kind of interest and attention that i watch boxing, or even close

somehow interesting in the same way people watch those videos of a python fighting an alligator.

(although not even remotely similar in terms of hype, this Mayweather spectacle reminds me of the MMA fight between the Polish strongman champ (Marius is his first name, can't spell his last name, even though i'm from that part of the world, starts with a "P" though) fought a former UFC heavyweight champ (Tim Silva, i believe it was)--it was brief and not competitive)

but here's how Floyd talks about this side show:

i want to give the world what they want to see

[But McGregor is] just another fight for me. Another fight that fans want to see.

perhaps he's right, a lot of people really want to see this, but not a single hard-core boxing fan i know gives a damn or even regards it as professional boxing

another spectacle for mass consumption and one of the participants happens to be a former professional boxer, but that doesn't make it boxing.

but if floyd wanted to give the boxing fans what they wanted to see...well then he'd fight GGG who everyone knows would quickly agree to that fight

so as you see in those quotes, floyd considers the McGregor spectacle another fight, just like the previous 49, which is at least honest
