Similar to the Carnera-Bowe thread, this is not about legacy, but rather all around abilities as a fighter.

Who do you guys pick here?

I would lean to Bowe. Vitali methodical, predictable, effective. Makes great use of his size and attributes. Bowe could underuse that jab but had quite good skills inside and Futch didn't rave about his abilities and potential for nothing.

    Vitali.

I can think of many people that looked competitive with Bowe, not so many that could hang with Vitali.

    Vitali.

Bowe was v good but Vitali better. I'd cite the Golota fights (went life and death twice) and their respective performances vs Hide. Bowe had real trouble from Hide, a possible knockdown and rocked a couple of times. Vitali blitzed Hide.

Which one of the guys that didnt look competitive with Vitali do you think would be competitive with Bowe? By competitive i mean winning atleast 1/3 of the rounds and look like he might win to a reasonable observer, not just land on Bowe because everyone landed on Bowe

    I like Vitally's style better.

He made better use of range, and was more methodical.

Bowe - He had a broader selection of punches in his armory; a better jab; better upper-body movement; better inside game.

Vitali had more power, to my mind, and might score more in the chin department but that is uncertain.

Overall - on their respective best days - I'd say Bowe is the better fighter.

I like Vitali's toughness, but, Bowe was a better fighter. Much more fluid and versatile. And, although there are a number of Heavyweights who match up poorly H2H against Vitali in spite of their superior skills (Patterson, Tunney, etc), I do not think Bowe is one of them. I believe Bowe would beat Vitali H2H in a great fight where both men would get rocked a few times. I would pay good money to see Vitali and Riddick fight. You just know it would turn into a war. Conversely, I think a motivated Bowe is likely to make quick work of Wlad in a similar fashion to Corrie Sanders.

You honestly dksab if you think Vitali was a higher skilled boxer than Bowe. There is literately ZERO argument for his case.

Hide didn't win a round from Bower. He schooled Vitali in the first and if you want to claim he blitzed Hide , you can go ahead and do the same with Wilder vs Scott . Because it was the exact same situation and i seem to recall you giving Wilder ZERO credit for that victory.

And Vitali was nothing like Golota who was a better and more well rounded boxer than in almost every department.
For one - inside skills. Golota had the know how to shorten his punches to deliver smooth , fluid combos on the inside.
Vitali couldn't box up close to save his life. He was hopeless. Clunky , awkward and clumsy , Bowe would clobber him around the ring in the exact same manner as he did to Gonzalez.
