GGG is P4P #1 on a lot of lists, so dont say he wasnt prime when Nelo beats him

Im a fan of both guys but im with GGG on this one. If Canelo wins by clear decision or ko he deserves full credit no doubt. Anyone pulling excuses is just hating and wouldnt want to give Canelo his due. That being said the more and more i think about this fight the more im convinced its not going to live up to the hype. Canelo gets absolutely blasted inside of 5 rounds.

 

Canelo will not win in my opinion,,,,,,35 going on 36 is not in your prime by the way. Duran was the oldest fighter to win the middleweight title at a couple months shy of his 38 birthday.

 

I expect this fight to be fought at a high technical level with both fighters fighting Cautiously, and Canelo having the advantage.

I can see this fight like the DLH-Vargas fight minus the KO (not completely ruled out though). The more unproven fighter at the higher weight but more technically sound (DLH) vs the stronger, naturally bigger KO artist (GGG).

They will both get the best of each other in some rounds, but ultimately I see Canelo pulling with a lead using his better skills to win a clear UD. 7-5 or 8-4 in favor of Canelo.

Just a prediction.

 

For me it will depend on if it goes to the cards. I believe that Oscar will have the judges stacked. GGG will have to get more than one KD or a TKO/KO to win.

That's a solid prediction.

 

Canelo is a great fighter. I have been following him 8-9 years now. He is a top fighter but I still believe him to be below GGG. That is not putting Canelo down but what I feel GGG is a very special fighter. Whomever wins deserves big praises.

 

Toughest challenge to date for both, so no excuse, the winner should get full credit.
There is no consensus no.1 p4p at the moment. It's up for grabs, none of the contenders is a clear cut above the others, unlike the Roy jones, Mayweather and Pac era.
I do believe it's a bigger challenge to overcome for Canelo being competing in a smaller weight class prior and also generally ranked lower on p4p list.

 

The winner gets full credit, whoever that may be.

GGG looked less than stellar against Jacobs, who is a verging elite level fighter. Canelo looked less than stellar v Lara and Trout and got schooled by PBF (no disgrace). Truth is it's hard to look good for anyone against fighters who are going backwards all night.

Canelo is fighting a full 160lber for the middleweight title without trying to artificially handicap him, which is all I ever asked of him.

35 ain't what it was a couple of decades ago, where you're basically ready for the pipe and slippers. Fighters these days are excelling into their 40s and triple G was a late starter as a pro anyway, as are most former Soviet bloc fighters.

The ONLY way canelo wins is if he survives to the end and Oscar takes care of the rest. That is the God dam truth.

 

GGG wins this one imo. If Canelo wins full credit to him, I just don't see it.
