Wow what a shame but deja vu. That's crazy what's next for Uzbghatziky but the Dirrell brothers are a disgrace to boxing.
Shot was a little late, heat of the moment but he did receive a warning. Dirrell started slow but was coming on. Disgrace by Dirrell's team. Especially considering both men already shook and were cool.
Dirrell had come on and was doing well in the match. I had it about even or him ahead a round. He is mentally fragile though. That ref might need to be investigated. The punch was clearly after the bell. Instruct Dirrell that he has five minutes, see if he gets up. He was on his way to standing up. Dirrell was making his way back to his feet, he was on his knees. After the ref said something to him, and walked away, Dirrell then lays back down on the canvas, and acts like he can't continue. The ref later claims Dirrell was out cold(a lie). A man that is out cold won't be up on his knees about to get up, hear your words clearly, and comprehend them, and then lay back down clear headed on the canvas, and act like he can't continue. That was some real bull****. I'm not excusing the punch after the bell. Just hate crooked arse shenanigans.
The whole night on Showtime was full of refs and judges on the dole. Wish I could give up on this stupid sport
The judges in the Barthelemy fight had it a bit wide, but most people agree the right man won. Harvey Dock waved the fight off refusing to give Escandon a count. That was fishy to me, but Russell Jr. would have ended up stopping him soon anyway. Escandon was too competitive to wave it off like that without giving him his count and the chance to survive first.
The ref said "I'm gonna disqualify him" and thats when Dirrell went back down. Before that, Dirrell looked coherent and was even nodding his head at the ref as if to say "I'm good".
This. Dirrell still keeps his hands low and doesn't bend his knees, which is why he got caught clean like that. He also doesn't have the reflexes he used to have. He was very lucky that DQ happened.
That fight was disgusting. Now I don't condone the late punch but I think that Dirrell couldv'e continued. He played it to the max.
