Hats off to Floyd, he did a real good job with Davis. He brought him out of his comfort zone and beat a good fighter, easily i might add.
    On his home soil.
We were all going on about how Floyd is trying to steal the show. When Davis was getting asked questions, Floyd would always end up directing the conversation back to him.
Its similar to how Garcias dad takes the heat off his son.
You even saw Floyd laughing and joking with gervonta as if they were the only two in the room.
Hes brought him over here, held is hand all the way through and made sure his fighter didnt succumb to any pressure.
Did the job more or less in the first encounter as the 1st two rds they were both been cagey
I think Floyd did a top job in looking after his fighter, thats why i say hes a top geezer.

Cant say i agree that it was a gameplan from mayweather. He just seeks attention that much. Truthfully i think he doesnt like that anyone gets any sort of attention other than himself. Imo he,ll try and jeopardise the boy. As stupid as that sounds bearing in mind its his own fighter. But he,d rather see him fail than davis get the attention. Even when guys arent even near his level it still bothers him imo hes that competetive. Hes spent the whole week belittling davis in terms of trying to tell him what hes doing wrong...not really allowing him to talk. Trying to move him about. Basically forcing the kid to be his lap dog. Even davis,s trainers looked fed up with floyd half the time. I think floyds the type of person that wants him to fail so he can treat him badly because it makes him feel good.

I can see tank either taking the wrong type of fight at the wrong time on mayweathers advice...or mayweather trying to mess him up with bad advice. When he loses it,ll be no one can win like floyd mayweather etc.

Hes found him through broner he wanted him etc. He did want to make him a success. His original intentions we,re probably good to start with. But his own irrational jealousy will get the better of him imo.

Anyone who doubts how Mayweather feels about Davis should read about the house he got for him. Car he got him and shady characters Mayweather paid off for him.

If I was Gervonta i'd be embarrassed how he treats him. Really really embarrassed. Hes made him look a c**t all week! your right, something tells me he wont want him doing too well in a weird way. Looke like he might be using him for attention imo. Judging how he runs his gym Mayweather, he don't give a **** about no other fighter. I think thread starter is naïve to him

Or getting him out of the ghetto so he can focus simply on his career and not the street life

Totally agree gevontas a 22 year old man thats a world champion being treated like an 8 year old all week. Floyds maybe gave him stuff but hes that much of a dick its came at a massive price...pretty much any self respect the kids got left. For that money mayweathers wanting complete surrender from him. Hes put the kid in a difficult situation...i ll give you the money but i ll make you look inferior every chance i get. If floyd really wanted to help he,d be doing it in private.

They know davis is the goods...hes a great find. But mayweather wants to help him for his own gratification. He,ll take the credit for finding him. Hes already took the credit for getting him out the situation hes been in. He,ll feel superior by treating him badly. As i said though his own irrational jealousy will try and make him fail. I d love to see davis get away from him. But he will fail somewhere along the line...mayweather will make sure of it. Then he,ll treat him badly and cut him off or just treat him badly somemore. Floyds a bit of a narcissist by the looks of things.

Pretty sure he done something slightly similar with broner. Obviously not the same level of involvement in his career but the same pattern of behaviour.

If youd of asked me a few days ago, id of probably said the same and to be fair, i do still think theres a big element of Floyds ego, thats played a part in all this week.
But the more ive fought about it, hes done a great job of making Davis feel comfortable and happy all week. Hes the youngest w.champ whos come over to the other mans back yard and i think Floyd has done a great job in protecting his fighter in this endevour

Your maybe right mate. A lot of what i ve wrote...is more theory than thats how it is and thats that. Cause i ve seen floyd talk before when hes came across very well also. My only thing is he should of been giving davis a chance to promote himself more than protecting him...didnt look like davis needed much protection from walsh. But davis does seem quite a complicated character that doesnt have the communication skills/tools to deal with it all so you might be right mate. If it was anyone else but mayweather i tend to agree 100 percent but even just watching the video of mayweather meeting joshua. Straight away he was uneasy cause someone turned up that might take a bit of limelight off him. He didnt really give joshua much time...then grabbed an unknown and tried to make a big deal of him instead. You see him checking whats going on round joshua not long after. He gets flustered a bit. All opinion...but little cues that points towards it maybe not being a gameplan or an act with davis this week. But who knows mate. Its pretty much open to interpretation.

That's what a Hater does. Always has to try and find a negative out of something no matter what.

    Mayweather did nothing with Broner.

Broner failed to live the life and treat his career seriously. Floyd saw through that chump and realized there was no hope for him.

I would say gervonta needs to get a more experienced trainer like Virgil Hunter, he would vastly improve his defensive qualities, and the world is his oyster he has potential to be the Nxt Terence Crawford.

If Davis continues to progress and grow in the way he has been doing I can see him becoming a huge star and eventually telling Floyd where to go. Mayweather is one of a kind I've never seen anybody so self centred and attention craving, it's what made him work so hard and get so good. The way he acted today when Joshua was getting more attention than him at an event they're doing was hilarious. He acted like he doesn't even know who Joshua is
