I thought he was alright for the Davis fight to be fair, put Woodhall in his place regarding the stoppage. Bit hit and miss during the off-time of the Crawford event though, his discussion of British "should have been" fights was good, but somebody should have told him to STFU about his bloody book. Plugging it literally every two minutes was pretty shameless
Before the fight, the whole crew's attempt to discredit Davis was a bigger collective embarassment than anything else. Kicking off with 'rumblings' about Pedraza, thus trying to take away a win of a quality that Walsh will never achieve. Then following up with comparisons of Calzaghe-Lacy, despite there being none apart from the unbeaten records and the US fighter travelling, and my favourite of Bunce stating matter-of-factly how Lacy was/is a better fighter than Davis. By time the fight started I wanted Davis to win and it was clear he would, pretty much straight away. The ref saved Walsh from real damage and Woodhall was talking utter shite about an early stoppage, a clearly inferior fighter wobbling about like a snatch fresh fawn against a superior puncher is a no brainer to me. I'm going to presume that the Walsh camps hilarious post match request of 'Let's do it again in Vegas' was referring to a showcase of Walsh's 3rd round jig in a down market casino and not a rematch.
Refused to answer questions and had a proper go at him. If I remember right it was over comments about Bellew's bottle during the Stephenson fight. You can find it on YouTube.
I find him annoying sometimes and entertaining other times. Probably 60% annoying, 40% entertaining. I have always liked Woodhall's analysis.
Yet another thread started by Impacted about how terrible someone on TV is. Honestly, he's done literally dozens of them. Anyone would think he wants a career in television or something! I watch boxing for the fights, not for who's presenting and commentating. Impacted needs a new script
Buncey is a legend and knows his boxing. Nobody can be right all the time but he's a great man to call a fight. He's funny, he's old school and his opinions are his own which is what you need in punditry. I like the BT team, Woodhall generally gives excellent analysis. He knows his boxing thoroughly at every level. Anyone can make a bad call on any given night. Doesn't mean they're **** or should be sacked.
Give me Woodhall and Bunce over Froch and Nelson any day. Woodall is superb, he gives proper detailed analysis of a fighter rather than no knowledge Froch and Johnny Nelson who makes it up as he goes along
I've not seen much of him since setanta went down the pan and he was still posting on here back then until he threw his toys out the pram and left. From all the setanta shows he did I remember them sort of chugging along very badly organised and calling up fighters over the phone which was usually very boring but that added to the shows charm I guess. The thing that annoyed me most about him was that he would always sit on the fence when predicting the winner of a fight, drove me round the bend! That interview he does with Hopkins when he shits himself is pretty funny though, it's on YouTube
This content is protected Good watch that lolol. Bunce's excuses after are laughable. Did 'Fantastically well' apparently.
