Mikey Garcia vs Adrien Broner in the works for July...

So after all that talk from Mikey about how he was going to beat down everyone from 135 to 146, this is what he came up with?

 

I wanted Mikey to stay at 135 so a fight with Loma could be made. If he goes up he will never get that fight. Bad move here IMO. I'd much rather see Mikey-Loma than Mikey-Broner.

 

I share your view on which fight is levels more preferable. But, I'll be convinced that a Mikey/Broner fight will occur only after the bell for its first round rings.

 

Excellent fight for both guys. Broner is a much better fighter at the lighter weights but he'd be taking on a guy who's arguably more skilled and well-rounded than him. He'd have to bring the fight to Garcia and not lay back and throw a low amount of punches per round while looking for countershots. His lack of punch output and his lack of foot work/lateral movement have been his biggest issues professionally.

 

Like Gimp C said, this kind of kills the Lomachenko fight (unless Mikey is willing to go back down to 135, which I seriously doubt)...

HOWEVER, this could also mean that a showdown with Crawford is possible, which is just as mouthwatering as a Lomachenko fight...

 

I like this fight, actually. It's a good styles match up.

 

Adrien Jerome Broner is one of the best fighters on the planet, but so is M.Garcia. This is a good fight, could see both taking this.

 

I hope Broner can roll back the years and show something. Finally, I get a fight where I am rooting for AB, would love it so much to see Miguel get his lights turned out, the only likeable thing about him is his big bro.

 

A fight against Loma would have been nice. But along with most people knowledgeable about boxing no-one touches Loma right now, including Mikey, who was probably the best chance at 135.

 

I'm calling it now, it will be a hard fight for Garcia.
