You think Ron Lyle would be a tougher opponent than Mike Tyson?

Right, Ron Lyle isn't on Mike Tyson's level. More like Trevor Berbick's level.

Oh boy the Ron Lyle terminator argument...the guy with No head movement stiff punching ,learned to box in prison ( hence amatuer level skills if you acytually know what you are looking at),and actually fought more fluid if he was 215 pounds at 6'2. Berbick would defeat Lyle.Only foreman actually made him look good with such poor defense and reliability on size.

look what Cooney a sharp crisp power puncher with refined skills did to him...it wouldnt have mattered any point in Cooneys young 20's...that was a real refined fighter about 225 pounds.

Would Tyson lose to Jimmy young ? Even if he had 3 x the worst day when he fought Douglas? Just stop...lol

    lets take it to reality....

Foreman was too slow.that alone wins Tyson the fight.

Foreman was dropped by weaker LESS skilled guys.

Foreman feared Frazier until he saw what happened when Frazier was hit. ( showing he would surely bottle it mentally here)

    foreman defense was WIDe open.

Foreman struggled when guys fought back and if the fight went past ( IF ) 3 rnds then what?

Foreman would only be 3 pounds more than Prime tyson, foreman struggled with guys close to his weight. The ONE true HW puncher he fought was Lyle wasnt it?

Wouldnt Tyson have cus F'ing Damato in the 70's?? Even without Cus what could foreman actually have over Tyson...REALLY? Let me know?

Do the math. you have a guy ( Tyson) relying on counter punching /slipping punches vs a easy to hit slugger known /proven to get rocked by MUCh less talents.....oh boy...SMH...lol

It is prime Tyson. everything up to prison is prime Tyson.

He got arrogant after rooney and Douglas was a really bad night when he wasnt prepared, but against Ruddock he looked very very good, the people complaining about his lack of croutch or combinations in the ruddock fights dont know anything about boxing.

The entire purpose of Tysons rythmic side to side headmovement was to get inside tall Ali-clone type boxers jabs and straight punches without getting hit, the Tyson jab was designed to get inside as well(How? to hit him in the face with it so he keeps his hands at home so you can get closer).

Now was Ruddock snapping out a bunch of jabs or 1-2s? No. Was Ruddock shelling up but then randomly exploding with hooks and uppercuts? Yes.

    So therefore

    1. opening up would have made no sense agaist Ruddock because ruddock was shelling up with his long arms and would have exploded with one of his KO lefts while Tyson was letting his hands go against his guard.

    2. Boobing and weaving made no sense because Ruddock wasnt jabbing or throwing 1-2s that tyson needed to get inside of and he couldnt just walk in to a clinch, in a crouch(which is one of the things he did that bothered me even with rooney) because Ruddock would have uppercutted his head off.

Ruddock had no rythm. he was awkward, durable, a one punch KO artist and 11-22 pounds heavier than mike. tyson fought the perfect fight showed great toughness chin and stamina and most importantly those 2 were the only fights were i really really felt Tysons personality matched his aura. he was really iron mike through and through in those 2 fights. Took ruddocks best shots and walked through them asking for more and firing back every time. Before that he would sometimes look noncombative in the clinches or complain to the referee but in those 2 fights he was really just a machine.

That whole story is based on hearsay by Goodman (who?)

My uncle knew someone who met someone who talked to someone who heard that Mike Tyson was supposedly scared of Foreman.

Yet...when the contract was presented to Foreman, we know what happened.

There's an important glitch in that article that is untrue. "Goodman overheard Steve Lott telling Don King..." is what this article's truth leans on. If that part isn't true - the entire article is fan fiction.

Guess what? Steve Lott has never talked to Don King personally. And that's the bottom line.

Prime is not age...its ones PEAK of what or how they are fighting at a more effective manner.Prime has nothing to do with age thats a myth since no one actually peaks the same 9 though today about 30/35 COULd be considered the norm)

im pretty sure i KNOW ALOT about boxing and can tell you his croutch style head movement would have cause Ruddock to throw those jabs and move back more...........the fact he was looking for one punch k.o shots let Ruddock fight the way he did. an aggressive body to head and elusive back and forth footwork would have ended the fight within 4 rnds.

Lol all the fanboys that think they know more about boxing and about Tyson than Cus D'Amato. He openly stated that someone like Tyson would get destroyed by Foreman. He was very clear about this: No swarmer could ever defeat Foreman. They would run into his uppercuts all night long and thats extremely bad for your health against the hardest uppercutter in Boxing history.
