    I see this a lot: "Golovkin got tagged because he fought reckless and was trying to KO Brook early, then started boxing". This is WRONG and backward. The truth is Golovkin came out boxing, was losing or was ineffective, THEN began to turn up the pressure and go for the KO.

    Golovkin was beat (not beat up) when he stood in the center of the ring. He applied pressure and clever boxing to move Brook to the ropes, then beat him there.

    Not to discredit Golovkin's boxing, Brook is just a good boxer.

    Why didn't he fight like that against a monster puncher like lemeiux?

    With brook he knew he could just walk and let him get shots in with no issues once he turned it up He put a beating on brook kinda like how u let your lil bro have the upper hand then just show him who is boss

    He didn't use the jab as effectively, and he didn't come out looking for the KO like others say.

    Lemieux is easier to outbox than Brook.

    Expect Spence to try to bang the body early, based on how Brook reacted to the first body punch landed by GGG in that fight. I know, Spence doesn't bang as hard as Golovkin, but he's great to the body.

    Who cares, GGG is very easy to land punches on for any slick boxer. Willie Monroe Jr did the same thing.

    because GGG let Monroe hit him its no coincidence the moment he pressed on the gass he stopped him he could of even stopped him in round 3 but didn't want to end the fight early and waste the whole camp he wanted to give a drama show
    You never seen GGG beckoning willy to hit him?

    I know its amazing at elite level to let even featherfisted to get free shots In but in golovkins case he actually lets some fighters get shots in

    Good article. You are right, Golovkin tried to box Brook at first but found that Brook was faster than him. (Although the early rounds were still close, it wasn't that Brook was winning them easily as some claim). So he turned up the pressure and walked through Brook. He took quite a few shots in doing so, and any talk of Golovkin letting Brook hit him is nonsense.

    To me, what happened was perfectly normal. A smaller, faster guy should be able to outbox the larger, slower guy; but sooner or later the larger guy's power and durability will tell. Exactly the same with Canelo-Khan IMHO.

    He invited Brook to do the same. When Brook landed GGG literally nodded his head and motioned him to come again. Monroe is slicker than Brook, he'd tie Brook up in knots at 160 and I rate Brook and like him.
