Who were the better punchers? Leave a reason why.

Better punchers as in better one shot KO artists or better at throwing power shots in general. Just not sure what the question is implying

Just want to see who people think the better punchers are. Don't let an implication stop you from voting on what you believe.

Archie had more knockouts than anyone in history I believe. He could crack from `60 all the way to heavyweight. He even put the champ on the canvas. Walcott won the title with a one punch knockout. He carried power in both hands.

I do think Ali was a pretty decent puncher when he came down off his toes but Young wasn't much of a banger

Oh, I see what you're asking. The answer: Neither. Who was a better knockout artist? It doesn't matter if one shot or a 5 punch combination. Punching power itself doesn't matter here. For instance Earnie Shavers was a harder puncher than Joe Louis but Joe Louis was a better puncher.

Lyle was the best puncher out of them all. But Walcott and Moore were better than the rest. But if it was individual, it would be Lyle. Ali wasn't a bad puncher, not the best but Young definitely wasn't a puncher.

Ali had a decent KO rate, he KO'd Iron chinned Foreman and supposedly Liston. Moore and Walcott both dropped Iron chinned Marciano but Lyle was a beast in terms of power, he just wasn't made of champ material otherwise he could have been a lot more. Still a great fighter.

There must be a misunderstanding. I'm asking which of the options were better punchers. Thanks for the list though!

No. There is a poll at the top of the thread.

Who were the better punchers, Walcott and Moore or Lyle, Ali, and Young?

In the category s available I'd say Walcott and Moore. Ali and young where not the biggest of bangers and lyle was heavy handed. Whilst not at heavy, Moore had a cracking punch, whilst Jersey could certainly punch hard,, enough to drop rock , Louis and Charles. So in the two choices I'd say Moore and Walcott but the other group apart from young had a good chance of ko ing top heavy s.
