Lemieux may be a top 5 MW, but the MW division sucks big time. Curtis Stevens was a top MW not very long ago. lol

I'm on the Lemieux hype train. Cotto would be a good victim for him, a solid name on the resume.

 

Cotto is now fighting under Golden Boy Promotions just like David Lemieux, not sure why you can't see this fight happening. I think you and the rest of the fanatics who overrate GGG's opponents are overrating DL a tad bit too much.

 

Cotto is a much better technician than Golovkin.

Golovkin did not use his aggressive style to beat Lemieux, he actually outboxed him.

I doubt Lemeiux lands anything significant on Cotto. My opinion.

 

Bookies are usually right. I say the bookies have this fight very close based on everything you mentioned, but if Cotto still has it, I can't see him losing to a fighter of Lemieux's caliber.

 

Nope, boxing is still the best sport in existence, I still lurk randomly and read up on boxing news everyday to stay up to date. I lurk mostly but still post time to time.. it's just that there's no point in posting when every thread is filled with posters with 20 alts doing nothing but trolling. I hate Bernard Hopkins because he's a racist bigot, disrespectful towards other boxing legends, a cry baby/sore loser, and a boring dirty fighter. I hate his guts but you don't see me posting 1/10th of the **** I do about him like you do with Cotton.

Rubio was KTFO by a JrMW that has nothing on Cotto.

No one on Golovkin's resume beats a healthy Cotto, save Jacobs.

I disagree lol. You have a very dominant champion in GGG that makes the rest seems weak. Prior to the the fight, almost no one give Jacobs a chance, but a less than dominating performance from GGG suddenly it's alive. Canelo, Saunders, Jacobs, Khursidze, Lemieux and GGG now the all those fights have a chance to be competitive with uncertain outcome.

Anyway, I always like Cotto. But he is definitely out of his prime and Lemieux is a legit 160 pounder. I don't think Cotto handlers will let him near Lemieux but if it happens, I will surely waiting in anticipation.
I still think the chance of how the fight unfolding will be closer to Margarito 1 than Cotto-Mosley.

This is a pointless fight, Cotto hasn't fought in 18 months @ this point (regardless of his up and coming fight) and he isn't a middleweight

Lemieux will die if he has to go under 160!!! I thought he looked worse than Chavez Jr @ the last weigh in and he weighed 163!!!

If this fight happens @ 160 Cotto is going to get a career ending beating, I think Lemieux has changed his style a bit since that terrible GGG fight where he tried to box and move. These days he is in search and destroy mode and Cotto is too small and to ancient to get out of the way.

 

Again, they are good for MW standards..

GGG fights mostly lower tier fighters.
Canelo hasn't had one fight at 160, but is the 2nd most credible fighter there (that says a lot about the division)
Saunders is a straight up regional fighter
Jacobs is a decent fighter who beat another decent fighter but there are still a lot of unanswered questions.
Khurtsidze is almost 40 and is pretty much a regional fighter.
Lemieux has beaten who?
