Mayweather/McGregor Fight Discussion

I was actually hoping they would fight in Texas. A rowdier crowd, the mega screen for the nose bleeds, I can have an excuse to go look for real estate there. This fight has a chance to break gate record's.

 

Problem is we`ll end up with that idiot ref Lawrence Cole whos father is involved with the Texas state Athletic Commission. Horrible ref.

This is whats gonna happen, Mcgregor is losing bad, then he throws a haymaker with his eyes closed and catches Floyd on the chin and knocks him out. Highlight replay of the century

 

Yesterday, WBA President Gilberto Mendoza announced that the sanctioning body would play no part in the fight as he views it as merely an “exhibition.”


Though the fight has not yet been made, Mendoza made it clear that should Mayweather come out of retirement, there are bigger challenges he could take.

“I think this would only be an exhibition fight. I don’t think it’s good for boxing to endorse it as an official fight. I think both are great athletes, but Floyd is retired and if he wants to be back, he has great boxers whom he can face and provide a good show,” he said.


“I know this fight can be done,” he continued.

“However, I want to make it clear that the World Boxing Association will not get involved in the event. We respect both athletes and it seems to me that Mayweather proved to be the best, as McGregor has done in the UFC, but a bout between both should not be more than an exhibition.”

It's a circus show. Why would any alphabet organization be involved anyway? This farce being for any kind of even minor belt would be a slap in the face for boxing.
They only have to be licensed, that's all.

 

The thing isn't happening. This is all nonsense to keep boosting publicity for all concerned.

Its ok they have about 9 belts for each weight class they dont want to be greedy now do they?

 

I would be disgusted if any of the abc belts got involved. If they couldn't sanction a debut world championship bout involving Lomachenko, then who is Conor McGregor?
WBC will probably create a pathetic belt.

I think it's about them being clear it's their decision not to be involved rather than appear sidelined when they're not invited to be. Politics, basically...
