No excuses from me, it was a great fight and Spence was a worthy winner. First 6 rounds belonged to Brooke but for whatever reason he gassed after that, whether he was weight drained or fatigued from the battle with Spence or a bit of both I don't know. Congratulations to Spence Jr, I think he'll go on to dominate the Welterweight division.
These excuse making threads are *****-made. Spence made a commitment to the body and it paid dividends.
If Brook didn't go up two weights, get his faced smashed in before coming down two weights, then of course he would have done better...
1-Thats what happens when you get hit in the same spot over and over. Any competent fighter targets a weak spot. spence is the one who made brooks face swell up with his punches. Brook didnt just suddenly start breaking out like he touched poison ivy. 2-Ggg hurt the other eye. 3-if Kell "king of the mandatories" Brook had fought his mandatory when he was supposed to rather than jump up in weight for a moneg grab, there wouldnt be any concern over Brooks eye bones in the first place.
I don't think you can argue that GGG done 60% of the job for Spence. Brook was a broken man *in Tony Bellew's voice*
Negitive! The body work! Brook hit a wall in the 9th due to Spences body work! He didn' t ko him, he made Brook quit in front of his country men. Don't get any better than that! Brook is one tough man, you must destroy him to finish him! Very good fight!
Destroyed him the first 7-8 rounds? You Brits are hilarious. Stay in your pub get hammered, your boy got broken down... physically and mentally.
LOL @ "Destroyed", "exposed". Plain fact was that the fight was very close through the first 9 rounds, it was on a knife edge. Then Spence took over.
Posters are very GULLIBLE on here..Who cares what eye socket he broke,he was going to have flash backs and tentitivness going into the fight bc of an eye injury against another puncher. A HUGE point in my picking Spence to defeat him. A defeated fighter like Brook is ripe for a talent like Spence who is/was underatted by many bc he didnt fight anyone( one would think by now the new generation boxing fans would know not to go by that) in a way the smart bet would be on Spence bc of the GGG fight . thats actually came down to my decision, along with the fresher /less worn down younger guy who if you actually look at skills would hold his own.
One thing i will say( im U.S) UK fans are very Gullible/Oblivious U.S fans are Fibbers/Tall tale exaggeraters...lol
