You have made PLENTY of very dumb statements on this forum over the last week. Brook vs Spence was two A-Grade fighters going at it, and we are lucky to see such skill in action.
But of course, everything I said, was right. The body shots won it for Spence, Spence stopped Brook (Just like I said he was going to). You denied it entirely, whatever. It was two great fighters. But comparing Jeff Lacy to Errol Spence.. is just insanely idiotic. I hope you can agree to that one.
Eye injury won it for Spence. I had Brook 5-1 up at 6 rounds. They are two very evenly matched fighters. I would pick both to beat Canelo at 154. Lacy is a bad example, not because Lacy is like Spence (Spence is VASTLY superior) but because Calzaghe is MUCH better than either Spence or Brook.
Let's not talk about whose superior to who. All I'm talking about is the droves of people proclaiming that this will be Deja Vu all over again and how Brook would LACY Spence. Just unbelievably idiotic. And the eye injury imo was half of it, the body work was the other. Kell looked so spent in the later stages of that fight, Spence was working that body the entire night.
Good post. One of your best. Spence's body work was indeed amazing, as you guys predicted. I thought Brook's controlling of the distance rounds 1-6 was AMAZING and Spence+Team looked befuzzled. I guess the same as Brook's team were after round 6. I am truly gutted.
He can come back, and you don't need to be so gutted. It happens. Brook fought a good fight, early he was composed, outjabbed him, the jab over jab counters were on point for a good # of those early rounds. Nothing to be ashamed of. He still has lots left for the sport. 2 extremely good fighters getting it on, nothing is better for the sport. We need more fights like this.
I actually think you're underestimating Canelo a little bit, just my opinion. I think he can beat Triple G, gotta be honest here. We'll see though, might sound bold but Canelo is IMO better than you give him credit for haha.
they aren't evenly matched, however, brook is definitely the closest ww and fought some even ish rounds but wasn't ever "winning" anything. The only thing the eye injury did was save brook further punishment and a t/ko on the ground..spence already had him figured out by the bend of round 3, simply took OVER from there. brook put up a great fight but he can't ever beat Spence, especially now when Spence is coming into his own and brook will start to fade. Spence was off tonight which is the reason brook fought fairly even for 3, maybe 4 rounds before Spence tool over. watch it sober and try not to look for any and every possible reason to gift brook rounds, if you can't see Spence is on a different level, even when way off target. brook IS an elite talent, much better than the porter fight was able to show, due to porter fighting like a grappled. Spence is the truth and will start smashing the belt holders, just lile I claimed YEARS ago on here when I was posting as (speedkills). every prediction I make comes true, every single one. only BC I only predict what I know to be obvious and a guarantee
You must be drunk to make a statement like that. Brook gave everything he had and he still lost. Spence is still growing and learning.
I had Brook 5-1 up after 6. I think the official cards were 4-2 Brook after 6. Then the eye injury happened. I find it hard to criticise Brook when he was clearly winning the fight until the injury. No excuses, Brook has glass sockets and Spence is a machine.
Brook has a recurring injury. Minus that it was 50-50. Spence was also out boxed early until Brook' s weight loss caught up with him. Calling Spence the new big deal is premature.
So you are saying that it's Brooks weak eyes and not Spence's right hook or straight left that cost him the fight.
