we'll just have to agree to disagree. i have seen ibragimov in action and to me, he sucked...so did leapai and jennings and the vast majority of wlad's comp. thompson was one of the most ridiculosly mediocre fighters i've ever seen and he kept getting title shots. i've been an avid boxing fan all my life and never even heard of this guy thompson until he showed up fighting for the title...same with ray austin...like, where did they get these guys from? a homeless shelter? rahman was a shadow of his self and peter was pretty much shopworn by the rematch...it all comes down to what people want to believe. i thought the wk era practically killed boxing...glad to see its enjoying a resurgence. in the long run, wlad's era is over and i for one couldn't be happier.

    Holmes would've knocked Joshua out.

36 y/o Holmes could not put a dent in Michael Spinks over 30 rounds. He never faced anyone as heavy hitting and big as Joshua, only guy that compares for power is Mike Tyson and we know how that ended - quick and brutal.

The Ring P4P list didn't exist in 1985.

I think the KO ratings for pfp used to be listed in place of the Ring for the 80s on boxrec. It's not there anymore, but it was maybe a year ago.

He was sparked twice in one round as an am by the same dude, one in a golden gloves and another in us Olympic trials. And no journeyman ever "sparked" WK, idiot.

I'd be able to agree if tysons "reighn" was longer, at least long enough to be considered a great reign. I don't include that as a try reign.

Tyson fought in a era where LL wad the real reigning hw, Tyson had kind of a holy reign where win it, lose it, win lose etc etc.

Bizarre comment. Both Tyson and Lewis maxed out at 9 straight title defenses before losing.

so u arent talking about a HW title reign at all then, which is the basic stipulation of this thread? end of discussion, you just self destructed your own argument completely.

As someone who lived through both, it's a toss up. Both were mediocre

The early 80s, at the time, were recognized at the time to be an era of HW boxing among the worst of all time, if not the worst. Only rose-colored nostaglia has changed this.

But not as professional world champion which is what the thread is about.and Saunders was blitzed by Nate Tubbs in two rnds who was a journey man so Sanders was Knocked out by a journey man but wasn't a journey man himself when he nailed vlad to the canvas years latter.mind you Iam an idiot.
