The eye was the get out clause excuse.

He was done from the body shots which slowed him down which then lead to Spence overwhelming him with barrage of combinations to head and body. Kell simply did not want anymore.

Spence exposed him and finished destroying him as a fighter after GGG started the process.

I would agree with you up to a point. That point being 2012 and the Garcia loss. After which he's had five fights in five years, and it's half a decade since he's been a world champion. Since 2012, Khan has been more about maneuvering himself into mega fights he's not earned and avoiding fights he knows he can't win, if he doesn't think the money justifies the KO he's likely to take.

He's not alone in this respect. He's walking a well-worn path of maximising earning potential and minimising risk but he can no longer claim warrior qualities with match-making like this. Prior to Garcia, yes for sure he proved he had no quit in him, after that fight though, all he's proved is he has no fight in him to risk testing if the no-quit still exists. Forget the Canelo fight, that was a pay day, just like Brook's was vs GG.

Calling out Brook at 147 after the Spence loss, shows exactly where he's at because he knows Kell will move to 154, and no, it's not to duck him. Khan has fought at 155, Kell has fought at 160 so there should be no problem at all making this fight at SWW. But it won't happen at 154 because Khan 2.0 quits before the fights can be made.

There are two Amir Khans, you identify Khan 1.0. He doesn't exist anymore...

Massive credit to Khan. Heart of the lion. He's completely gone and is trying to get up each and every time, no matter how funny he may look doing so.
Massive credit to Khan. He earned two world titles with five successive defences (robbed of a third against Lamont Peterson) despite his bad chin.
Massive credit to Khan. Came back from being KO'd in career changing fashion, to becoming a two weight world champion.

    Yeah, I agree somewhat.
None of this is rocket science.
Khan has been past prime for a while now, he's looked far less impressive, isn't as disclipined.
People change, they evolve, especially in the 20's. He got married, lost his dedication. He had a daughter and his heart for boxing just went. He's looking for paydays now but even despite that, he hasn't been fighting Salka's or Kevin Bizier's.

He's been in there and fought some tough formidable opponents as Khan 1.0 when he was hungry and in his prime, and now that part of his career is over for quite some time now. He's nothing left to prove. Who cares if he gets KO'd again? Past prime losses are not significant at all, nor are pre-prime losses (Prescott) in the grand scheme of things. A Khan 2.0 who 'quits' is not so significant either - although I'm sure he wont be quitting in the ring - he's proven he's not that kind of guy..I ultimately can't even judge him so much if he does, the way I can't judge Morales for quitting against Pacquiao, De La Hoya quitting against Pacquiao etc.

...This is why it never really made sense to me to see Khan vs Brook over the past couple of years. It's just another money grab but is still seen as competitive because Khan is a good boxer.

I tip my hat off to Khan for being able to worm his way into that superfight with Canelo. I can't knock him for that, he's doing what he has to do, you would do the same for a few million - he is not just a boxer but a man like us. Khan wants to make the Brook fight win or lose, just like Brook wanted the Khan fight even though Khan lost a few times.

Khan is not a light Middleweight - his punches didn't do a single thing to Canelo - and that fight was at 155, whereas Brook was getting the attention of Golovkin at 160. There's no reason for Khan to let the fight be at 154 whatsoever - and that doesn't show a lack of heart for insisting such.

The warrior code stuff Bellew goes on about is rubbish, he would probably do the same if he thought he was gonna go blind. it's easy for them to judge, brooks skull got busted by GGG and they question him. It's a sport at the end of the day, this fight to the death stuff is for stupid idiots that are not thinking of a life beyond boxing.

Where was Bellew's warrior code when he would have to fight Breidis?

At least Brook had the balls to face the top contender immediately after facing the monster two weight classes above. Bellew would look for money fights instead and would probably generate some fake beef with one of the Charlo's.

Brook was a real champ and Bellew wasn't.

i dont like khan (as you might have been able to tell), but i agree with all of that. it takes some nerve to do what he does having been splattered the way he has.

having said that, i dont think hes very bright and i think his family have happily encouraged him to continue to box because they as his management team have made a fortune from him. could you imagine making your name and fortune off the back off that happening to your own son. i honestly couldnt. i almost feel sorry for him, he has never had any decent guidance from those around him. his knockouts have been brutal and i can only imagine the kind of damage they've caused.

Fair enough. Kell fought some weak mandatories I do agree, but that's what they were. Basically if what you say is right and what I say is right, Khan needs to stop calling for the Brook fight at a weight he knows Kell won't box at anymore and focus elsewhere - or show his old no-quit, warrior self and take the risk, like Brook did taking on Spence. It's a cheap shot by Khan, on the night of Kell's loss, to do the groundwork which will later transfer into claims he was ducked. That's very 2.0. It's a pity, I was a big fan of the old Khan....
