Calzaghe had one of the most unique styles in boxing history

Joe was a big guy at 6 '1' and 170 plus lbs yet fought like a flyweight in that he threw nonstop punches with speed and from angles that were difficult for his opponents to read and he was a southpaw to boot which made his punches even more difficult to defend against like prime Pac man and now LOMO because of the southpaw angles they come from.He had a good chin and could fight inside or out I genuinely believe he's a nightmare for any guy in or around his weight class in history.

 

being southpaw is a big advantage.There was a reason they were avoided for decades and were forced by managers and trainers to turn orthordox for matchmaking etc.Many of the best fighters nowdays are southpaws.Calzaghe's stamina come from his god given fluid mechanics.He never burnt up much energy when throwing his shots like other big guys 170 lbs up because of his fluid mechanics.

 

i rate Kovalev highly Ward not so much.Calzaghe outpoints Ward fairly comfortably imo.Another fighter that compares somewhat with Calzaghe is cruiserweight Usyk.He also has a unique style for his size,souphpaw great movement ,workrate and throws shots from nice angles.Very difficult style to counter and i would honestly pick him over heavyweights like AJ and Wilder.

 

lol got nothing to do with him being blak.I rate Crawford as one of the p4p best.Ward is good defensively,keeps a tight shell which makes him awkward but dont offer enough offensively for me.

 

Kovalev imo won significant numbers of Americans agree but Ward deserves max credit for being competitive against a bigger stronger guy.
