calling it a draw is very fair seeing as ward got the decision.

again u dont rate ward but rate kovalev, who was matched by ward from the lower division. bizarre, no explanation yet, inspite of -

1 ward also trouncing the man from LHW at the time
2 undisputedly defending combined SMW titles repeatedly
3 matching kovalev at LHW


whereas kovalev at best has -
1. unified (damn good)
2. beaten 50 year old hopkins as his best win, or fake titlist clev (not so good)

 

No one is outboxing Calzaghe period.

 

Watch a documentary about where Calzaghe learned to box and trained and you'll be even more amazed. He also rarely if ever sparred.

Kessler was effective the first few rounds and competitive throughout a great fight but was confused and was never going to outbox him over 12.
Robin Reid, was a good competitive fight. Didn't outbox him.

160 Hopkins would have been interesting. Too bad he ducked out of the fight when it was agreed in the early 2000's. Still Hopkins would have had trouble with Calzaghe's speed.

 

byron was hitting joes chin, joe was hitting byrons arms lots with no effect. joe turns to ref to ask him to stop fight, and seconds later byron slips and is stopped by ref.

arguably did, he landed a higher % of thrown punches.

shame joe wasnt going to fight at 160 you mean.

no trouble at all, it would have been him leading all the way not for just 6 rounds.
