Did you see the IFL interview where Hearn looked visibly angry and really tore into Allen ?

Saw this last night and it's fair comment. What the hell is Allen doing on the day of the fight going out to pubs to meet fans and burning energy? Hearn is right, he needs to shadow an actual champion from training camp to fight night to see how it's actually done.

Allen is limited enough as it is, the least he can do to boost his chances is to take nutrition, training and general prep seriously.

Lenroy Thomas is light years above Allen in terms of technical ability.

Allen needs to decide if he wants to be a boxer or whether he wants to be a clown. Hearn won't indulge him much longer. We all know Allen is not above British level in any case.

He is a nice lad but someone who is easily led and mentally seems quite child-like.

I think Hearn was Harsh and spat the dummy after Brook retired with injury.

He's very knowledgeable about boxing and clearly a big fan of it. He knows what is expected but he's too immature to snatch the opportunity that's been given to him. He doesn't actually believe in himself.

This the same Hearn that fed Allen to Ortiz for the measly sum of 9 grand? **** off Eddie. It's obviously just dawned on Eddie that he ruined Brooks legacy!

Eddie was spot on. Allen needs a kick up the arse.

Hes had so much promotion and backing...on the flip side hes been willing to foght anyone...the kid has a world class chin, psychological stamina...but if he carries on like this he will become known as punchbag to the fringe contenders....he needs to get himself in shape with nutrition, lift weights to add to his natural strength...get a decent trainer like mcguigan to work his skills

Stupid from hearn for me. Everyone knows what dave allens about. Hes made his name off the back of being that way. Then wants to turn on him when it goes wrong. Didnt see the fight last nite but allen shouldnt be going in with anyone thats got a chance to beat him atm. Give the guy a chance to grow. You look at the guy duboix or whatever his name is fought last nite. Hopeless. No chance of losing against him albeit it was his 3rd fight or that. But dave needs experience in the ring atm. Needs to build his confidence. Settle down his boxing. Gradually get fighter/stronger etc. Not put in 50/50 fights. Then turned on when it goes wrong.

He got around £20k for that fight. I remember because Allen confirmed it on Twitter.

I think Allen needs a bit of a kick up the arse if I'm honest, he certainly doesn't live the gym life & comes into the ring looking in pretty bad shape, there are plenty of as good domestic level fighter guys like Allen who don't get anywhere near the sky coverage or paydays that Allen gets, he needs to show more commitment to the sport if he wants to keep his place on sky cards.
