How do you know he won't fight Thurman next? This may shock you, but some fighters actually have nuts and don't go the Floyd route of smaller, older and lower class fighters.

 

quit talkin crap about floyd. floyd became the way he was bcuz he earned. back in the day wen he was coming up some one should have took him out. yes castillo didnt get the nod but that boxing. thurman is not fight spence next hees out for 6months doubt he will get in right away with spence

 

i think there is 3 real options. and thurman is not one the considering injury.

eggington, peterson, porter , its a long shot but maybe joesito lopez sense that kinda fight gets made alot in boxing . easy first defense

 

It wasn't a shot at Floyd. I was using him as an example to make a point. The point is maybe Spence will fight Thurman soon, possibly even later this year. Why not? Not everybody runs away from a challenge.

 

Vicious and relentless body work has always created massive "luck" for boxers who dispense it. And, it always will. A lot of top-tier boxers are going to be "unlucky" when they fight Spence. Attributing this win to luck is ludicrous and indirectly delegitimises numerous elite fighters for the last 100+ years. Because, if Spence won due to luck this time out, so did many, many others on a ton of previous occasions.

 

Thurman will want to test his elbow coming off surgery. Spence has a ton of options including Vargas, Bradley, Garcia, Porter, Broker, Mathysse, Peterson.

My pick would be Bradley but he's with Top Rank so...

 

I'd like to see him fight Peterson. It would make for a good scrap for as long as it lasts.
