If Brook didn't get a freakish injury what round would he have won?

Brook QUIT with a convenient excuse! That's what happens when a guy whose best win was Porter goes against a good fighter. I gave him credit for going up against GGG but damn he looked bigger than GGG. He needs to stop weight draining to beat up on small guys.

    agree
i dont get how fighting bigger guys at 154 is better for him either......guys at 154 will be bigger, longer and hit harder. those glass eyes wont last long and he wont be able to bully the others like he does at 147 (jo jo dan, bizier, etc)

Errol was outhustling Brook and doing a lot of good work to the body anyway, Brook would've felt the pace. Brook wasn't going to win the last few rounds even if he didn't have a broken orbital bone.

I like Brook but he got a beat down. He came up against a younger, hungrier more powerful fighter who broke his face with his fists.

"Freakish" injuries are pretty much what you can expect when a fighter goes up against an opponent that naturally has more to deliver and then demonstrates the will to deliver it.

(It's more than boxer versus slugger.)

I agree wholeheartedly that Brook was leading in the fight after six- 4 to 2 seemed right to me.

I also think that Brook is the more polished and certainly- more clever- fighter.

However, no matter the training and conditioning, Brook will never have a higher capacity tank or the type of muscle mass and shoulder bulk that Spence has- and this will be a problem for most, if not all, of Spence's opponents.

(I could deliver a pretty good expanded explanation here, but will avoid that.)

So, IMO- Spence, if thoroughly prepared for a fight, will be hard to beat for anyone that is not a physical match for him. This is especially true since his defensive skills seem well developed and are improving- at least according to some others with more experience watching him than I have.

I respect and enjoy watching a fighter as skilled and experienced as Brook, but I was in no doubt that he was being taken apart by about round 2.

There are lots of good, fair posts here today. It was an entertaining fight.

Brook was dominating hard. Don't get me wrong, spencer was putting up more of a fight than frankie Gavin but he was still obviously the weaker fighter.

Brook loses an eye and, coincidentally, spencer starts landing more and the yank fanboys start going crazy.

    Embarrassing.
