The question is not who has a better resume between these two fighters the question is whether or not Canelo's resume put him near the top of the pound for pound list. You are deflecting

Sure his record isn't that great, but the problem is how few contemporary fighters have a better one. He rises to the p4p list by default.

For the p4p list i feel like it's important to have a decisive win against a fighter in their prime. Canelo fought two fighters who could be considered prime in Trout and Lara but struggled immensely with both.

And his opposition has been softer than a newborn Dustin Nichols.

Destroyed bigger stronger men then bumnelo has even dreamed of fighting. Bumnelo hasn't even campaigned at middleweight because he would have a 5% ko ratio and many losses. Bumnelo can't beat bigger opponents.

Most fighters struggle when they are matched with good opposition, Did Ward not struggle with Kova, GGG with Saunders, Chocolatito just lost his last fight, etc.

SImple question, what two Trout/Lara-level prime wins do fighters that you rate above Canelo have on their resume?

Ward and Kovalev are both elite. It's expected. Trout and Lara, while world level and A-tier talents, are not elite in my opinion. Chocolatito has beat prime fighters in the past and is in his 4th weightclass. I think you're getting confused with what I'm saying as well. "Having a decisive win against a prime fighter to be considered p4p" is not the same as "struggling with a prime fighter is not something p4p fighters should be doing." Any fighter that goes their career without hard fights has to have their resume questioned.

I must have missed GGG vs Saunders.

As for the last question I'd have to make an actual p4p list. But like somebody else said earlier, currently there aren't many fighters who are clearly p4p level talents. That's usually how it's always been. I mean, Robert Guerrero was top 10 at one point. But there are fighters who do have clear decisive wins against other A-tier/world level fighters. Ward, Kovalev, Crawford, Lomachenko, Rigo, Joshua, Usyk. I usually don't put a lot of thought outside the top 5 because a single win from any 10-15 fighters could shift it. Too volatile for me. But Golovkin and Canelo obviously make the list. Lemieux isn't a top win for Golovkin but it's better than a lot of Canelo's. Jacobs is right there on the level of Canelo's wins over Trout and Lara. All three are controversial and none are decisive.

First off, I meant GGG vs Jacobs not Saunders(my mistake) but you're all over the place with your post. Hopefully I'll find some time tomorrow address that.

No doubt. My opinion on the subject is complicated and I'm not the best at expressing what I mean.

To anyone bringing Canelo's age into discussion, Canelo has been boxing as a pro longer than Golokvin.

Bumnelo fought one elite near prime fighter and that was floyd and he failed miserably even with youth on his side. Don't say bumnelo got better because he didn't he looks worse now. Khan was making him look like a bum for the time he was conscious. Just his Wayne Rooney head just got fatter and balder.

Golovkin fought Ouma after Sturm ducked him. Nobody ducked Alvarez...
