Gonzalez vs Rungvisai II, Cuadras vs Estrada and Inoue vs Arroyo in LA in september

Arroyo hasn't fought in over a year, since losing to Gonzalez, and he is moving up in weight. There have to be better guys at 115 for Inoue to fight.

 

Yeah there are, but for the moment he has to settle with Arroyo

 

Inoue should fight Tete, we already know Gonzalez will duck him

 

Estrada is a much different style than Gonzalez, and he won't be laying there on the inside for Cuadras like Gonzalez was. I'd say Cuadras and Estrada are pretty similar stylistically. They both like to throw combos with speed, then move to the side. But Estrada is more resourceful, has the better balance, and is the better counter puncher. Cuadras has the speed and size advantage, but I think he'll be there for Estrada to counter, and if Estrada's at his best I like him to sharpshoot his way to a decision.

Did Gonzalez's face falling off not have something to do with Rungvisai's 'adjustment'? Let's see how Rungvisai handles a fresh, healthy Gonzalez. Whether Gonzalez dominates more than the first or Rungvisai improves and wins clearly these guys will sure make for another fun fight.

With Inoue debuting in the US on this card I hope he shuts up about moving above 115. He's shallow-chested and not really broad-shouldered so shouldn't be gunning too far up the scale.

Very close match with Estrada. I would have been happy with a draw. He beat Cuadras 8-4 just like he beat Rungvisai. I wouldn't be surprised if Roman makes some adjustments and decides to fight him more on the outside and wins every round because he's so clearly levels above Rungvisai in terms of skill if not physique. We might see the matador vs the bull instead of Gonzalez trying to bully the bull back. For most of that fight Gonzalez landed 2 or 3 punches for every 1 Rungvisai did and I think the major reason some people thought that Rungvisai was winning was because of the knockdown and cut painting a picture. If Gonzalez stays on his feet and doesn't get cut this time he'll have a much easier night and people will see him beating Rungvisai like a drum.

 

I was hoping Gonzalez vs cuadras 2 and rivisa vs Estrada

 

Rivisa is a great fighter.

 

Arroyo is an ok fighter but eh, a bit of an underwhelming opponent for Inoue's US debut. Casimero would have been a great opponent and someone that could have really test him.

 

Frank Warren moved Tete up to Bantam after he KO'd Paul Butler, which is why I was crying foul about how Warren was handling Tete. Tete had stated he didn't have trouble making 115, so why would they move him to 118, when he had just beaten Paul Butler and was in line for an eliminator at the lower weight. Tete inherited the WBO belt at 118 when he beat that Fillipino guy last month. The WBO belt holder didn't make weight for his title defense, so they just gave the belt to Tete for winning his eliminator.

 

It doesn't give me butterflies, but to me it's the best fight on the card.
