He needs to stop before he reverses his brain damage. I couldn't bear to hear Toney start uttering legible sentences in an interview. That'd be all kinds of wrong.
He planned to fight the winner of Briggs v Qquendo until Briggs tested positive. Other highlights from the interview. A Tyson fight in China was planned for 2015 but Tyson pulled out. Randy Couture refused a rematch in boxing. GGG stops Canelo.
I would pay front row tickets to see Toney vs Hopkins. I want to see B Hop take another plunge out the ring like Michael Phelps at the Olympics. I wanna see Hopkins dive head first out of the squared circle like Mark Spits.
looking so old now. At his peak, a wonderful boxer with supreme reflexes and incredibly talented. I would prefer to remember that version of James Toney.
Toney should retire now, with a last KO win and having finally won a HW championship, though a minor one. If he choses to fight on, so be it... but the fight needs to make absolute sense, also money-wise, no more journeymen. I think a rematch with Roy Jones would be OK, and a winnable fight for Toney
Since Briggs is out of the picture, why not have Toney step in? A rematch with Oquendo for the WBA championship! Would be a good fight
You would think it is all about the $$$ but judging by some of the short clips of crowd size at the last fight vs Sheppard I cant think that event would have paid much, unless the PPV did anything ? Does anyone know the gate or PPV numbers ?
