Norton boxed on even terms with Ali, why would he not be able to outbox Carnera? Carnera isn't stopping him so what other options for victory does he have? I'd give O Halloran an outside chance of beating Carnera .Novice Impelletiere outboxed the Italian till he ran out of gas.

I just see Norton been a little to, for want of a better word, vicious for primo. I'm thinking of Norton who broke Ali's jaw and kept after him for twelve rounds. And even in the rematch he took a fully fit determined ali to the wire. If primo had been in the same league as say , cooney, shavers or foreman, then I'd have no hesitation in choosing him over ken. I think Ken will keep after primo through out the rounds and it will be a surviving type fight from Carnera. Frazier in there with primo and I see a breakdown of the big guy but Norton just keeps getting his over hand right s and vicious hooks in to our point him.

you would give O'Halloran a chance with Carnera?? Who is the best guy O'Halloran beat?
Carnera beat a lot of guys better than Jack O'Halloran. there is no proof O'Haloran is better than Victorio Campolo.

I don't rate Carnera a decent version of Golota spanks him imo.

Well that's a fair assessment. I go along with it as well. Norton should be favoured here. However if he can't knockout O'Halloran maybe he's not knocking out Primo.

Another important factor is having the time temperament to win when it counts. To raise his game.. Being able to rise to the occasion. For all his talent, nortons best effort were never his actual title fights. There's no shame in losing to Ali, Foreman and Holmes, but he was better than either of those title challenges were able to show. He disappointed and froze against Foreman. Against Ali for the title, Norton allowed an old man, ripe for the taking, to hustle him in the last round to seal the decision. Having been given a title, Ken took too many rounds to get into the fight to be able to catch up To Larry.

Carnera never beat anybody as good as Ali but neither did Ken Norton for the title.

you are entitled to that opinion.

Norton slightly past his peak gave Holmes life and death.Holmes would toy with Carnera.

Whose the best guy Carnera beat ,splish splash Sharkey, dead man walking Schaaf ,punchless light heavy Loughran or King Levinsky who had lost 5 of his last 6 fights!
O Halloran beat Al Blue Lewis,Manuel Ramos,Henry Clark.I guess they'd do alright with Levinsky!

Oh I agree, Holmes WOULD toy with Carnera.

But that's a big difference between Larry spanking Carnera and O'Halloran beating Carnera. Bodel knocked O'Halloran out.

Bodell was an awkward sod, a lunging southpaw, counter punchers crucified him, maulers he could cope with.

Norton wins easily in my opinion, Carneras success record was 'assisted', so gotta say if Norton can beat Ali and run him close in rematch, then he has Carneras number for sure.
